Great Radio but watch out for old stock

from Madison, WI  -  Power User

It took several months and multiple returns before I exhausted Adorama's onhand stock of original production run radios. The first batch of radios has a problem with the tuning circuitry that results in the device drifting off the selected station. This is an acknowledged flaw by the manufacturer and Adorama was willing to do multiple returns until I got one that did not have this issue. If you receive a unit with a production date of Oct 2012 or later you are fine. Once you have a good unit this radio is exactly what my mother in law wanted. She grew up with analog devices and is not comfortable with other control schemes. This radio is completely analog and unlike many others is a quality version. The tuning dial is geared so that you can get a fine adjustment and all of the other controls have indents so that you know they are where you want them to be and they don't slip into new positions accidentally. The sound quality is very good for its size once you've used the adjustment dials. It has a reasonable amount of bass for the total sound output and the treble can be adjusted to compensate for hearing loss.
