Buy something else !
I bought this because it seemed a reasonable price for a decent camcorder & I've always been fond of Sony products. I have yet to be able to get the videos and pictures to actually go ON the memory card. They always go onto the internal memory, even when I've told it to go directly to the card. I have been completely unable to get the pics/videos to transfer from the camcorder to my computer. I called tech support and they told me I'd have to send in the camcorder & they would have to most likely delete everything on it. I have my wedding video, my granddaughter's 1st birthday and many other important videos on there that cannot be replaced, so needless to say, I haven't sent it in. I believe the extended warranty I bought is also now expired because of the resolution option for this problem.

Very disappointed....
For years I have trusted the Sony name, which is the main reason for the purchase. I have not even had this camera a year, and already it is inoperable. On Christmas day, of course, the camera broke, I got an error code "e61:10". This error code is very common with this camera. Also, there is no flash for the pictures. I would recommend something besides this.

Cannot Wait to Return
I am so disappointed with this camera. I was looking forward to a camera for family trips and hikes and such. The ability to take stills was the selling factor for us but the pictures are HORRIBLE! They are such poor quality and there is no way to improve them. I cannot wait to return this camera. I expect better from a company like Sony, even in this price point.

My mother just bought me this handycam for my trip to Italy and France. I cant wait till i can use it on my trip. I have used it for little movies here and there and it works great! I rarely have to use my memory stick.
