I love the super Bowie, but I wish there more handle options like the 2.0, I would probably collect them all. I like the sheath too but there is a rivet that could scratch the guard. (Yes, I know that's trivial)

I began carrying this during a deployment to Iraq. I preferred the features and ergonomics over the issue Gerber multi tool which always punched me during use. The tool covers were lost on occasion. But replaced by SOG, no questions asked.

Really like this knife... The quality is exceptional & the ergonomics are correct. When you grip this knife, you know how it is pointing. Very sharp, & holds it's edge...

I carry this blade with me along with my 380 pistol. I have it so sharp it's scary lol. I highly recommend this as a survival blade or self defense blade. Yes it's big but that's the point! I hate to rely on a pistol and knife for protection since I have two black belts one in BJJ and another in Judo. But people don't like to fight with hands anymore. All in all this is an amazing knife. Get one!

I bought this knife a while ago and it is amazing. Good for doing all sorts of things, hunting, chopping, cutting and it is razor sharp and stays that way. It's a bit pricey yes but this knife is so genuine and well made it'll last a life time, I'll probably be able to give this knife to my son (whenever I have one) buy this knife.

Awesome knife, one that has earned a spot in my shop for daily usage. The Knife and Sheath (for purposes of the review) are looked at as a single item. Hence, the lost star is due the sheath, yes there were minor (small) inclusions in the blade and handle - but nothing compared to the sheath - it is like taking an awesome power plant from a Formula-1 and stuffing it into a rusted out AMC Gremlin - just not right for so many reasons.

I recently became aware of the original MAC V SOG knives after reading three books written by Special Forces , MAC V SOG veteran John Stryker Meyer and began searching for a clone. After finding doing much research and also reading about SOGs copy being made in Taiwan I still had to buy the SOG 2.0 Bowie regardless and I couldn't be happier! The knife is brand new and will not be abused but so far it seems very well made, the only negative thing I can say is the sheath is cheap and to thin for this beautiful knife and I really wish SOG would provide a better sheath for future SOG bowies.

All in all I would like to say that I am pretty impressed with the quality and make of this knife. Absolutely more knife than I expected. I recently purchased a Super SOG Bowie. The quality of the blade and the leather handle is outstanding, I expect I'll be handing this down to my son when I'm gone. ( which won't be anytime soon LOL )

The knife is long and beautiful. The handle is as much a work of art as much as the blade it is a part of. Now let's get to why there aren't 5 stars. The leather sheath is so tight that it will scrape the black off that beautiful blade. Now that is a shame since I purchased this for the knife and not the sheath. I own a Kiku Matsuda fixed blade, I have worked for a Surplus store and have sold SOG fixed blades and I can tell you that they can do better. This blade needs a kydex sheath option. To not provide one is for SOG to not listen to the desires of those that buy their blades. Go ahead and get the get but take the time to let them know that you want a kydex option.

I love the SOG Super Bowie, it looks great and handles nicely. My one and only complaint is the sheath. It's a legendary battle knife and I carry it often; I would like to see a sheath with a backhand draw. It's the fastest, most natural way to draw a battle knife. Other than that I've never had a knife before or since that can quarter 3 elk without stopping to sharpen the blade.

This was a birthday gift from the wife, and it is amazing! It looks like it could handle cutting through just about anything. The knife was sharp out of the box, but I am unsure if it is as sharp as it can be. This is my first knife purchase so I have no idea how sharp these knives can be, but compared to our kitchen knives (Wusthof - very sharp), the Super SOG Bowie is just a bit dull, but still sharp enough. So I am not sure about the sharpness, but regardless the knife is amazing and I could always have it sharpened! Also, the engraving feature is sweet! Thank you SOG for creating this beast of a knife!

I love the looks of the SOG Bowie, and my wonderful wife got it for me for Christmas. I'm glad she did! I carry it a ton working on the farm and out in the woods and it does its work like a champ...even headed and gutted a number of pan sized trout this summer in a pinch. Its pretty handy to have around and I'm grateful to have it! I'm a big fan of SOG and have owned and enjoyed a number of their products over the past couple of decades...always durable, always good looking!

This knife came out of the box sharp enough to shave and the hefty weight makes it a great outdoor knife to baton, carve, and pummel it's way through all your needs. This knife is my main knife for my bug out and back packing bag.

I bought this knife about 24 years ago for a field knife of multipurpose uses. It fills all the bills I wanted it for and more. First I wanted a knife that could be a utility tool around camp. Secondly I needed a knife that could also.be used as a weapon if need be and be able to multitask,and it has done well at this as well. I've been teaching outdoor survival and edged weapons training for about 20 years now and I would say without hesitation this knife can do most any job you would call upon in the field for it to do without effort.

I use this knife a lot from setting up camp to cutting my cooked meat, very good edge retention and a thick strong blade, I bought this knife in 2007 it no longer looks new but cleaned up i would say its 95% Perfect still after 8 years of heavy use if i could rate it more than 5 stars i would.
