I've had my Vulcan for about four months now and I'm finally ready to give it a review that is based on actual EDC user experience rather than post purchase excitement. Having said that, this knife is top of the line. Ive had it in my pocket for standard daily tasks, from opening boxes and letters, to cutting zip ties and rope. I also use it to practice live blade self defense drills and cutting tests. The blade is still in great condition, and has no "play" in the handle after (conservatively) hundreds of opens and uses, some fairly aggressive. The one hand operation is ideal in every situation one can run across. The steel is some of the best I've owned, and I've owned plenty of knives. It's easy to sharpen and holds its edge really well. Definitely a great purchase.

I had no idea the quality of steel used. This knife is solid and a keepsake. I'll hand this one down to my son one day.

Being in the army for almost 20 years i used a ton of knives but when you need to carry one knife that can do anything but you need to minimize the weight of your load without compromising safety ,speed and strength the answer is this knife period. p.s can i give 6 stars for durability? p.s2 where else you can find a 4mm seki blade? nowhere!!!

I've had a chance to carry this knife daily for about three weeks. I have other everyday knives, but the Vulcan is now the one I always have with me. It's easy to carry and easy to deploy. Unfortunately, my right front pocket is hard to get into when the knife is clipped there. So that's now the "knife only" pocket. Great knife. Top notch quality.

The fit & finish is very good, blade was sharp and usable out of the box, This is my first arc-lock, so took a bit of time to adjust. I held off buying for a long time but am glad I made the purchase I have been wanting & following this knife for quite some time (years). Only had knife for 3 days & have only cut a roasting sticks, small branches, some cardboard & packaging. Will make a full review in a year I hope.

The best knife I own! SOG does make better knives but not for the money. For a reasonable price easy the best knife on the market. Blade holds edge well.

This is a high quality knife that was very well engineered. Easy opening blade that maintains it's sharpness very well, super reliable arc lock keeps the blade precisely in place, and has a very secure and comfortable grip. Great job!

I bought this knife several years ago and carried it everyday for at least 4 or 5 years. I put it through all kinds of torture without it ever flinching. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a sturdy, reliable knife that doesn't give up.

I ordered the Vulcan for my husband and it arrived sooner than expected but just in time for his birthday. He refuses to purchase anything other than SOG when it comes to knives. Thr qaulity can not be beat. Couldn't be happier with every experience we have when dealing with SOG

Excellent quality steel in the blade and the handle, quality glass reinforced handle material is well knurled for comfort and great grip. The opening system is superb and easy to one hand open, easy to employ if one hand is busy holding etc., flipper is fantastic! The overall strength of the side pocket clip is strong and holds the knife in the perfect way to keep it easy to grab and use.

I bought this several months ago, this knife is a work horse. Easy to launch the blade, actually down right quick! So far the blade is still sharp and I'm cutting through every thing, leather, wire, carpet.

I purchased this knife back in November and I have to say I really love it. I currently own a Benchmade 950 Rift and a SOG Trident Mini as my EDC's. I got the Trident as my first folder and I was very satisfied with it even for a $50 knife. After that, I wanted something a littler nicer so I got the Benchmade at an employee discount for $100. I've been using my Rift for over a year and I believe the Vulcan is very comparable to it. Benchmade makes some pretty expensive knives and the Rift retails for about $165 on Amazon and I got the Vulcan for around $100. The action between the SOG and Benchmade seem very similar. The Arc and Axis lock mechanisms are both great and I've always loved these style of knives. There's added safety and security as opposed to typical liner locks. The action on the Vulcan is extremely smooth and I like the addition of the flipper. I am a little disappointed that I can't use the flipper exclusively. The problem is that this is not a spring assisted knife so you must use some momentum along with the flipper in order to open it. It also came razor sharp. I opened a package I received and it cut it open like butter. I just hope it can stay this sharp. Either way, I do have a Spyderco sharpening set to keep it sharp. I recommend this knife to anyone looking for a good EDC, but doesn't want to spend too much for something like a Benchmade.

Very sturdy knife. It is also very light for its size. Fits in your pocket great, easy to carry. I also like that it is easy to open one-handed. The steel is also impressive with a nice edge.

I own many folding knives I collect them but this is the one that I carry every day it opens and closes very easy with one hand so yo don't have to let go of your work with the other hand to use it the only thing that kept me from giving it five stars is the pocket clip seams to catch on things especially seat while exiting your vehicle broke three already (I have of these knives) but dog is a great company contact them and they will send you a free replacement great knlfe

I originally went to the SOG store in Lynnwood looking to purchase a different folder. After speaking with the knowledgeable sales person, I agreed to go with his suggestion and purchased the Vulcan. I have had many different knives as an every day carry and this by far is the best one. My opinion hasn't changed in the last year of having it. Its a great knife!

I bought after seeing it on a YouTube video. It is very detailed and I think that's what I like the best the attention to detail and quality. When held its solid and full. VG 10 is what I looked for in material, I'm glad it's not made with G10. It's my best knife, gave my recon1 to my son. To me it meets all my needs and wants. Very good guys!

Another SOG that I initially bought as a gift and had to have one! Well made and tough. Gets a lot of attention when I use it from knife fans. Quality components, durable steel maintains edge a fits well into your palm.
