Doesn't work with Win7 64-bit

The Sony support website allowed you to select the latest software (which includes the driver) for Windows 7 64-bit. I installed this (v3.3.0.1) but the device is not recognized when connected to the PC. Sony tech support said the device is old and is incompatible. I returned it -- too bad; it looked like a great solution for me for conducting interviews. If you're not using a 64-bit OS, then disregard this review.

Buyer beware!

Originally purchased one of these about five years ago. It worked great. Saw the "new" model and bought it. Wish I hadn't. There is nothing new except the increased price tag and an adapter for the MSDuo card. The recorder has repeatedly failed to save any files longer than five minutes, despite having a 128MB card. The files are either missing or are corrupted when they are put into DV3.

OLD TANK

Sony has not changed this recorder in years. Its file format is proprietary and difficult to work with - it is not one that many programs use. Olympus has not adopted WMA format and can get higher sampling rates to provide better sound quality. Still using Sony's memory stick instead of the now standard SDHC memory card format.
