Best headphones i got since the XB500

from Abu Dhabi, AE

Even though it is built from plastic, its porsche plastic not the cheap one you expect to get ever since i got my XB500 i ran through some famous headphones like the beats studios, marshall majors and some other headphones i used from my friends, and they were all disappointing when compared to the XB500. The MDR-1R is the first upgrade i got since the XB500 and i really love it, perfect treble for female voices/orchestral music, the bass is decent too and can be boosted with an equalizer setting overall, this headphones give you the best depth of music i have ever heard.

Great Headphones

from Undisclosed

I had bought Beats Studios and found myself wanting more out of my headphones. I did some research and these headphones kept coming up so a few months ago I purchased a pair...I will never look back. These headphones are top-notch. The price may scare some away but you get what you pay for, amazing sound and bass, and I can get away with wearing them for hours without any discomfort. By far the best headphones I have ever owned. The only draw back is the cheapish carrying pouch that comes with the headphones.

sometimes I don't get it, sony

from Pullman, WA

Almost perfect! Amazing! Everyone must say this! I use it on my walkman z which I think is the perfect match, but why I can't use the remote mic to control the volume on sony's own device walkman z? And plz give the walkman z android 4.0, walkman z in other regions have android 4.0, I really don't like gingerbread, ugly UI & many issues.

Incredible Engineering Once Again

from Indianapolis, IN

So far as I have been able to discern, these headphones are an incredible feat of engineering. They sound much better than almost any other headphone in their price bracket. That being said, the build quality leaves something to be desired. With a pair of $250+ headphones, I expect to find nicer materials than these are built with. The earpads and the headband are probably the nicest things on them. The sound is miles ahead of where the build quality would suggest. It is enlivening and exciting to listen to music on the MDR-1R. The "sound stage" is close and detailed, as is usually the case with close-backed headphones. It's not overwhelming though. Another stellar audio product from Sony. I recommend them to anyone searching for incredibly comfortable headphones capable of accurate sound reproduction. The price is a little high, but if you have the ears to appreciate it, these are a worthwhile purchase.
