I used them on the direct flight to Japan from SF. Its about an 8 hour flight and the batteries last about 15 hours. Since on two flighs I came up short I now carry an extra recharable battery and recharge before each trip. The sound is good and the noise reduction is acceptble. I would recommend to try the cheaper ones (in the ear model) from Sony which had about the same sound but batter lasted longer (in the previous older model I had.) Or I can can reommend the completely over the ear models which a bit large and hot for travel but work well.
