Sony is pleased to introduce the PMW-F5 based PMWF5DLCD and the PMWFDEL "DOC KITS" promotional package models. The PMW-F5 "Doc Kits" are being offered from October 15, 2013 through December 25, 2013 and will qualify for the 24 Month 0/0 program.
These two special "DOC Kits" were created to address the needs of the Documentary community. The kits will provide the vehicle to take a documentary producer from their existing platform and move them to a Super 35mm sensor camera. These packages will allow Documentarians to employ the on-board 10-Bit HDCAM SR File flavors and the XAVC HD format as well as provide an upgrade path to 4K RAW.
The PMW-F5 Version 2.0 software adds many new capabilities. The PMW-F5 now features 120P XAVC HD 4:2:2. With the optional AXS-R5 recorder, 120, 180 and 240 fps 2K RAW are now available. The PMW-F5 can also record 2K RAW and HD XAVC simultaneously. There are a great number of single and dual recording options available on this camera.
These packages take "Lens Freedom" to a new level. Three lens adapters are included; the Optitek CPL-i EF lens adapter, Sony's FZ to PL mount adapter and the new Sony LA-FZB1 FZ to B4 lens adapter. The LA-FZB1 will allow the use of B4 mount 2/3 inch lenses on the PMW-F5 camera.
For audio support, the kit includes the Sony ECM-680S Shotgun microphone with a matching Rycote "InVision" Microphone Shock Mount. To properly hear all the nuances the ECM-680S microphone can deliver, Sony is also including a set of MDR-7520 premium headphones.
Both packages are "out of the box" shooting solutions. The packages provide a production ready solution at a great package price.

The Sony PMW-F5 camera is designed to accept a wide range of lenses. RAW images offer incredible image fidelity and post production possibilities in a non-destructive environment. With the optional AXS-R5 RAW recorder, high frame rates of up to 240 fps at 2K can be achieved while retaining the exceptional, 16-Bit image quality without windowing the image sensor, and at full resolution.
