I used it to create a Fusion drive on my mbp 2010 on OS X 10.8.4. The HDD used with it is a Seagate ST500. It works perfectly! OS X boots really faster than with a HDD alone. Still very affordable for an SSD. Samsung for the win. Had it for 3 months now. The only thing is that my mbp is SATA2 so I can't even get the full speed!

Although the 830 series has been replaced by the 840 series, they're still a really great performing drive. I use the 128 gb model as my Windows 7 system drive with a i5-4670 cpu and an MSI Z87M-G43 motherboard. Boot times are less than 30 seconds and the system is much more responsive than my old hard drive system. Energy efficiency is also very good. The only downside is that SSDs are still vastly more expensive than hard drives, but if you're interested in performance, you'll be quite happy with one of these. I'd love it if they could get the price below $100.

It's fast. It installed Windows 7 in about 10 minutes. My computer takes about 10 seconds to boot. Hasn't failed in the 3 weeks I've had it. You're going to need your own 5" to 2.5" drive bay converter. Other than that, you have everything you need to install this into your computer.
