Questions & Answers

Shopper : what filter will fit my canon 55mm ?JIM K : If you have the 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 IS II lens, your filter needs to be 58mm in diameter (not to be confused with focal length.)DAVID R : I suppose you have an 18-55 EF lens. If this is the filter size is 58 mm. I like this size since it fits a variety of lens that I owe. Anyway for any specific lens the size is always printed at the front of the lens. For example if you have a Canon 17-55 f/2.8, then the required size is 77 mm. Note that this is specific of every lens and you can not use a different size other than specified.(although I have seen adapters). You can use the same filter on other lens with the same filter size. Once you have the correct size you can use filter from any manufacturer that provide the filter type you need.JAMES S : Look at the front of the lens for the diameter in mm followed by a circle with a line across it. Most Canon consumer lenses are 58mm, with the 50mm-f/1.8 as a notable exception at 52mm.CHARLES W : Any 55mm filter will fit on the camera.

Sunpak CF7059CP 58mm Circular Polarizer

What's the point to spend thousands of dollars for a good camera and good lens and put a ''cheap'' filter that destroy the precision of the photos ? Please don't waist you money on cheap stuff !

Good quality for the $

This is a high value purchase. I wouldn't consider this a top end professional grade filter by any means but for a tenth of the price it is a great tool for a novice like myself to start experimenting with filters.

Good price for decent filter

A great price for a filter I don't mind taking to the beach or forest. Price is cheap enough that it is easy to replace. No problems if know the basics of taking care of camera equipment.

Light rays which are reflected by any surface become polarised and polarising filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens.
• They allow you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass etc.
• They also saturate colors and increase contrast.

Sunpak 58 Circular Polarizer Features

  • Creates dramatic sky/cloud contrast.
  • Saturates colors without changing color balance.
  • Mount rotates to control amount of effect.
  • Increases contrast equally well with black & white film.
