Not so good.

The lamp is just Ok. it has an integrated diffuser a dichroic filter and a barn-door set ,all mounted on a single hinge. not the best quality here. A dimmer would have been a good addition. the problem: The Battery. this thing is terrible. An acid-lead battery that is more than 6 lb. heavy, and it will power the lamp for only about 20 minutes. it takes more than 16 hours to recharge. it has no indicator to tell if the battery is full, half empty or completely discharged. this battery alone is heavier than all my gear combined (the camera, extra batteries, camera bag, tripod, mic,headphones, etc.) all for mere 20 minutes of mediocre quality light. Definitely not worth it.

About Smith-Victor SV-950

Smith-Victor's professional on-camera video light is perfect for lighting interview subjects. The light housing is constructed of lightweight aluminum-fiber material. Both the built-in diffused soft-light filter and dichroic daylight filter rotate independently for optimal light control. Control color temperature from 3200deg.K to 5600deg.K by simply rotating dichroic filter. 4-leaf barndoors can be removed or rotated downward. Focusable light control allows for spot to flood adjustment. Unit has 6' coiled power cable with 4-pin XLR plug and unit-mounted on/off switch. Foam padded hand grip allows for storage of replacement bulb.

Kit includes SV950 Video Light and BP1-C, 12-volt power pack in a sleek and sturdy black nylon shoulder bag. Includes charger and XLR Plug Connector. (Tripod not included).
