Sturdy tripod you can take anwhere

By

from Fleischmanns, NY  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I do quite a bit of nature/landscape photography, and I am 6'-4" tall. Finding a tripod that is A) tall enough at full extension so that I don't have to stoop, B) light enough to carry with my backpack of other gear on 10+ mile hikes in the mountains, C) compact enough to fit in a carry-on, and D) sturdy enough to allow me to take the photos I want, is a tall order for a tripod in this price range, but it does all that. I do wish the legs were a bit easier/quicker to extend, I find the screw type locks take longer to lock and unlock that the flip locks, but that's a minor issue for me.

Questions about this item:

Charles H  Will the BH2 Ball Head fit the CF-3 Tripod Legs?
RICK B  It will fit but is a discontinued item. I recommend the Manfrotto 496RC2 or the Manfrotto 322RC2 if cost isn't an issue. Excellent tripod. I use this exact set up for my spotting scopes and laser rangefinders which far exceed the rated weight capacity. One I have used for over a year in tactical training yata. Hope this helps.
