I frequently use this flash with the rebel xsi, and 95% of the time it works perfectly. The other 5% of the time is if I need a quick shot or sometimes random setup shots. The internal zooming component is very slow and can possibly make me lose a shot. The biggest problem is that sometimes for no explainable reason a shot is almost white from overexposure, mostly when using for fill-in. I have never had two in a row overexposed like that, however

This flash is a great value for the money. It is fairly consistent, and worked great on a 20D. I recently upgraded to a 7D, and can not get the flash for sink properly. The instructions are very sparse, lacking detail, and I have not been able to find out anything on the internet regarding compatibility with the 7D. I recommend this for earlier Canon cameras than the 7D (20D through 50D.)

Highly recommended in Popular Photography as a Best Buy. Used it at a wedding. Sometimes inconsistent light output, but overall was well pleased with results. Recycles quickly.
