I've only used holo sights until now and of all the optics I've bought, this is my first <$300 red dot. I put this little guy on a Saiga 7.62 just for plinking using a side-mount. This rifle is not a 1 MOA gun by any stretch. So, I saw no reason to spend more than $100 on an optic, especially considering the poor mounting options AK's offer. The lenses are clear and the coating makes it easy to see the reticle even in bright light. Even the best red dots are a bit fuzzy, so don't expect a single distinct red dot. I can't speak of battery life yet, but won't hold my breath to see if it reaches 200 hrs. Once sighted in, I was pleasantly surprised. This Tasco has held zero for hundreds of rounds. At 50 yds I can easily get 5 MOA (2.5 in.) groups it claims even w/out shooting from a rest. This optic easily exceeds the accuracy of my rifle. I may even try it out on one of my competition guns to see just how accurate this thing is. At Adorama's price, this buy is a no-brainer...get one.
I mounted this on my mosin and it was easy to zero and holds up very nice .
