The swing out bottom compartment (for camera and lenses) it too awkward to use and I will not be putting a camera in this bag.

I use this bag for daily transport, sort of like my briefcase of life. I'm over 60. Most bags are designed for flat items like papers or computers, others for bulky items like cameras. This is the only one I know that excels at computer (17" MacBook, barely, even though it says 15") and lots of bulky items (food, camera, computer disks, tools) and even a few flat papers or magazines. It fits perfectly under the airline seat in front, and the slope is perfect for your feet. I love this bag, this is my second purchase of the bag, for friends this time. (yes, I would buy it for friends, that's better than recommend.) Unfortunately the bottom collapses unless the bulky partitions are left in, it is difficult to get a camera in and out, (but once in, it is well protected), and you can only place a few papers. Maybe the larger one would be a good accessory when not flying.

This is the probably the best protective backpack gear I've seen for both cameras and/or laptops. It's laptop compartment is even sturdier than the most laptop bags/sleeves - with real hard plastic board inserts to reinforce the sturdiness and prevent damages during fall or normal usage. Very ergonomic design of lens / camera body compartments, lots of space to put extra stuff like the MagSafe power adapter or International converter plugs. The only complain that I have so far is that the harness cover sleep cannot be entirely stowed /tucked into the back of lumbar support. otherwise it's a great bag that worth every penny of it!!

Great for trips to take camera and laptop in one bag. Allows packing for essentials and still feel comfortable running through airports. COuld use a little more room for peripherals for computer and cables for camera and computer. For size it works great
