there's a lot I like about this bag and have had good luck with Tenba in the past (I have a bag that is 25yrs old and still in good shape). So I've got mixed feelings about this one. Design-wise, I like the size and shape, it fits a good amount of gear in a easy-to-configure fashion. The extras like the memory card pouch that tethers to the bag is a great idea and I like that a lot. So, basically all good, until you get to the strap system. There's 2 big problems with this bag and the strap: 1 - the rings where the strap attach to the bag are not as tightly sewn to the bag as the should be, so they slip around. Even though they are "D" shaped, they are constantly rotating which affects how the bag is carried. 2 - the strap itself needs to be thicker or less pliable. It folds upon itself and, combined with the loose (not sewn-down) padded shoulder bit, makes things a mess. It is hard to describe but it is frustrating and with a little extra design this could be a fantastic bag. hope that helps...

I like Tenba bags in general. I have quite a few...this one I picked up to serve as a smaller kit configuration for a D300 w/ 70-200 and a wide zoom. Tenba bags are in my opinion well made. Good material with good stitching. Generally easy to work out of. This is the first time I bought a bag from an internet site, sight unseen, and I probably would not have bought it if I had a chance to see it first. It is described as a medium bag and it is what I consider a small bag. I should have paid closer attention to dimensions...My fault. The side pockets are unuaual in that there are two zipper accesses. One for the accessory pocket and a second that allows side access to the main compartment from outside the bag without going in through the top. I would never use this feature personally. The accessory pockets are small. Great for batteries or flash cards (nice flash card pockets inside), hard to fit anything else in...certainly not a lens or a medium sized flash. All other pockets are snug and tight limiting contents to things like instruction manuals (That I normally would not carry), lens paper, note pads, filters and other thin accessories. The shoulder strap is fine, well padded and typical of the Tenba quality I am accustomed to. The shorter "suitcase" strap for carrying off shoulder is a little too long for me. It is almost purse like. Leaving the bag low to the ground when carrying...too "swingy" for my taste. Awkward when loading into or out of vehicle. For a one body/two lens (nothing too long) configuration this would be a fine bag.
