About Tiffen 67 Circular Polarizer

Polarizer filters give you several key creative features.

They evenly increase color saturation of all colors (except black and white), creating deep, rich scenics.

They add contrast for dramatic skies and ariel shots.

They eliminate the whitish glare from highly reflected surfaces like glass and water.

Polarizers are two part lenses that rotate, allowing you to select the degree of additional saturation, contrast and glare reduction desired.

Tiffen polarizers are offered in standard and warm versions. Warm polarizers add Tiffen's exclusive 812 warming filter, giving portraits and scenics a warm and muted feel while retaining rich coloration.

Polarizes come in two types:

Circular -- for all types of cameras: required for beam splitting metering systems commonly found in auto-focus SLR's and in most curretn TTL Slr's.

Linear -- for older metering systems.

Tiffen polarizers are available in the follow variations:

Standard Linear.

Standard Circular.

Warm Circular -- polarizer plus 812 warming filter.

Wide Angle Circular -- a thin filter designed to avoid vignetting at the edges from larger wide angle lenses.

Perfect polarizer for my lens

By

from Dalton, Georgia  -  Photo Enthusiast

This is the perfect polarizer for my 17-70 f4 lens. The thin frame will not allow an image to vignette.

Used for landscapes, to darken sky and show clouds; also for product work with shiny subjects.

Works Great!

By

from East Peoria, IL  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

I had a Polarizing filter when shooting film. I bought this for my DSLR. If there's blue in the sky, this will bring it out and works magically on (non-metallic) reflections!

Used, but like new

By

from Black Forest, Colorado  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

This used filter was in excellent condition and it fit perfectly the filter holder purchased from the UK for a new Nikon P520, which was also purchased from Adorama.

Good polarizing glass filter

By

from Waynesboro VA  -  Semi-Professional

I use the filter to help deepen the color of the sky when the light is too bright. It is a somewhat subtle effect -- you have to view it carefully through the camera as you slowly turn the filter, then readjust the exposure. It is said to be useful for photographing rainbows, but I have not had that opportunity. I consider it an essential part of my photo gear.

Simple improvement

By

from Cape Cod MA  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

Great little addition to my bag. Really helpful in making the clouds pop and getting reflections under control. If you shoot outdoors, you need one!

Shopper  Is this a warm circular polarize filter?
JOHN C  I don't think so. My understanding was that it doesn't alter the color, except to make the sky more intense, for example.
