About Tiffen

Clear Filters are completely neutral, its only task is the protection of the lens, with no change in imaging quality or speed of the lens.

The Tiffen Digital HT Filters are made from the purest optical quality glass and Tiffen's award-winning ColorCore technology, Tiffen Digital HT - High Transmission - filters offer a new breakthrough in multi-coating technology. Imagine, a double-sided coated filter with the strength of titanium, unmatched scratch-resistant durability and worry-free cleaning.

Other coated filters on the market today cautiously suggest delicate, if any, cleaning procedures, in fear of destroying the coating (and thereby the filter). Not with the Digital HT filters - the secret is in the titanium coating that makes it extremely durable and protects against damage and mark up. And that's not all these High Transmission filters feature a low profile titanium finish ring and anti-reflective black lock ring, with a distinctive titanium finish that sets these filters apart from the rest.

Digital HT filters are made in the USA and come with a 10-year warranty your guarantee of quality assurance.

Digital HT filters are available as the following filters: Digital Ultra Clear, Haze 86 (with 86% UV absorption), Circular Polarizer, 812 Warming Filter, ND .06, ND 1.2, Soft/FX 3, Star 4 Point 2, and Color-Grad ND.0.6 in sizes 52mm-82mm.

Excellent clear filter, great value!

Cheaper than the Nikon equivalent, comes with a single, padded-filter holder, and takes easier to cleaning off smudges versus my Nikon clear filters. . .if I could, I would replace all of my clear filters with the Tiffen Digital HT versions!

Excellent quality filter. I've switched all my filter purchases to Tiffen HT both because they are excellent quality and they are made in USA.

Saved my Lens!

By

from Northeast Pa  -  Pro Photographer

A professional photographer borrowed my camera at a recent photo shoot and accidentally knocked it from a table to a linoleum banquet floor. Because of the weight of the lens, the camera impacted the floor lens first. The filter was dented and had to be cut off the lens, but thankfully neither the lens or the body were damaged. (took it to authorized repair shop just to be sure.) While some photographers choose not to filter their lens, the fact is that this filter literally saved my L-series lens. We are all very careful with our gear, but accidents happen. Would not be without a filter.

Great Lens protection and filter

By

from portland, OR  -  Photo Enthusiast

It is very clear filter. I use it for protecting my 70-200 f2.8 VR. Since I am using it for indoor shooting, it is the great choice for my digital SLR.

Questions about this item:

Brian M  Is the profile on this filter low enough for say a Nikkor 16-35mm f/4, or will it produce Vignetting?
ERIC C  Hi, Unfortunately, I am using this filter on a Canon 70-200mm f2.8 lens with a FF Canon 5DM2 and not on a wide angle so I don't really notice any vignetting and I put it on there as just protection. In the past, I've gone to low profile circular polarizers on my Canon 16-35mm due to a possibility of vignetting & still ended up with slight vignetting, but I would correct using post processing software. I'm not a professional photographer nor have I checked it for vignetting on my other lenses so I can't tell you definitively from my experience. It probably depends on whether you're using a FF body or a crop sensor and, there's probably a better chance with little or no vignetting with a low profile or slim filter.
Brett R  I purchased two of these about a year apart from eachother and the 2nd one I got had a slimmer profile (probably to reduce vignetting). The only problem with that is that my canon lens cap no longer grabs it securly. It falls off when bumped. Does this particular one work well with lens caps?
JAMES H  We are perfectly happy with our purchase of this item and have not experienced any problems with it.
