First the good: The tripod is lightweight as you'd expect, and fairly sturdy. I've only had it a month but it strikes me as very durable. It adjusts quickly and easily, and is very versatile. It can't get as low to the ground as some other tripods in its class, but that's apparent from just reviewing the specs. The bottom hook is what won me over since it can help steady the tripod in windy weather by hanging a heavy object from it. Now the bad: The pan/tilt head is mediocre at best. Either the one I received was missing an adjustment screw, or there is a design flaw. From the product photo of the tripod, I have to assume it's the latter. The small rod that tightens and swivels the up/down tilt is also used to tighten and swivel the left/right tilt. You can do one or the other, but not both at the same time. As a result, the platform is never entirely stable, which virtually defeats the whole purpose of having a tripod in the first place. Further, the left right swivel won't loosen adequately even when the grip screw is completely untightened. The way the head screws down into the tripod, what this does is cause that attachment to loosen when you pan to the left, which can again create an unstable platform. Finally, the Ugly: I would have returned this tripod for the reasons stated above, but I waited too long to take it out and really put it to use. By the time I realized the problems I would have with the head, it was past the window for returns. So here's the lesson: As soon as you get something in through mail order, get it out and put it to the test. I've had very good success ordering through Adorama, so I took it for granted that this would be a satisfactory product, and as a result I didn't test it out like I should have. Now, I have to invest in the added cost of a different head. I will still stay with Adorama because even though this particular product was disappointing, Adorama is a company that treats you right.

Very easy setup, takedown and nice height adjustment. Great for tall people like myself. I can't bend down due to an injury, so having a trypod that gets the camera as close as possible to my eye level and is still stable is what I needed and this fit the bill very well.
