Its got plenty of space to hold my laptop, my headphones, and then some. I have other Targis products and this one doesn't disapoint either.

I’ve been using this backpack for 5 years now and never had any issues. This was not just my laptop backpack. I used this as my travel backpack as well. I highly recommend this.

I bought this in November 2004 before I went to Iraq and this bag is still "Good to Go." Not sure where this bag was made but its definitely been around the block in the last 15-years. If you have a smaller laptop and no plan to buy a big one, you won't need this much bag, but if you have a larger laptop and want the ability to have everything but the kitchen sink with you, this is a good choice. It is comfortable and as sturdy as you need for a bag of this type. Actually, while I do have a large laptop, I'd be happy with a slightly smaller bag because I rarely fill this thing up. I have and will again, but typically don't need all the space it has. I would buy it again and do recommend the bag (assuming you want a large bag for a lot of crap). I've had no issues with it other than it being black and getting dusty at times. I often use it as my carry on for airline trips. If you don't fill it up too much, it will also qualify as a "personal item" which frees you up for another bag as your carry on. I'm prepping for a trip to South America and this will be used as my personal item on the flight down. I'll have my computer, cell phone, medications and cash in this bag and won't worry about a thing.

I am a college student, so I like to us the Targus Backpack to carry my laptop, and school books and supplies. I also enjoy using my Targus backpack extensively for traveling purposes. I don't have to worry about dragging bulky luggage around. I couldn't imagine my life without my Targus TXL, as I have come to rely on it. I just bought my second bag, after the first one I acquired through school lasted for three years. It was well worth it with my busy lifestyle.I have recommended this bag to friends and my classmates. This is my last semester in college, and I will be graduating next Spring 2019 with an A.S Degree.

The Targus TXL-617 is a great protector for really any size laptop. I had ordered a 17" laptop size backpack because I wanted my daughter to have ample room in her backpack for all of her school sundries and her book, as well as her purse. The only problem was that her new HP netbook is barely 12", leaving MORE than ample room, to the point where her netbook was being secured very loosely in the backpack. So I had to return it in lieu of a smaller backpack. But Targus's Customer Service was top-notch, and their Return Process was very easy, very reliable, and extremely expedient. For my own next laptop backpack, I would definitely be willing to go with a Targus. Thank You, Travis Young

I used the bag to haul my 18.4" laptop and sometimes SLR as well, all over the country, I eventually wore it out. I contacted Targus and received a replacement in a timely manner. Nothing is indestructible, and the customer service at Targus would make me recommend this Bag to anyone who needs an XL backpack.

This bag has all the room that you will ever need. I only have a 16" laptop but even with a 17" laptop, I don't see how you could run out of room. It even holds my books for class along with all the other gear I have for my laptop.
