Low price zoom tele lens

It's medium zoom tele that I just purchased. Very clean with chrispy optic. Low price but wonderful working on my Nikon D70s. I use it for both birding and macro's. I love this lens!

Tamron Zoom Lens

I use this lens all the time, whether shooting scenery, animals or portraits. Had one before. Broke lens after 20 foot drop to sidewalk. Small drops never bothered it. Immediately ordered the new one to replace the old. This is a definate must have.

Filter Doesn't fit the lens

I looked at the kit and figured the filter fit the lens it is paired with. Not the case. And to swap the lens I am supposed to return the whole kit.

Pretty great

Got it for Christmas and used it right away on a walk with the dogs, and right around the tree. The zoom is great, the focus takes a second or two and the Camera is sometimes flumoxed on whether the subject is near or far, but usually gets its nice and clear. This might seem like a silly CON, but, the lens is really long, especially with the hood on it. I am espically please with it because I needed more zoom and this has more than enough. At full zoom it is right at the limit of what you could shoot without a mono or tri-pod. It works well enough it low light, but anything with a somewhat extended exposure time at full zoom would require a pod. But that's not an detriment for me, a good excuse to pull out the tri

Make sure it works with your Nikon

Does not auto-focus with the Nikon D3100. Otherwise, a great lens for the price.

Good for the money.

Great for wildlife but zooming in and out is not very smooth and the autofocus is slow. For the money I spent I can't complain. No frills and it does what it's suppose to do. I haven't been out in cold weather with it and the lack of smooth zooming might be an issue when I do.

Very good Budget telephoto for beginners

Since I bought the product, I used less often because it is a big telephoto. I used it to shot on high floors towards the ocean. The lens deliver its functions well considering the cost. The AF is slow that you need to be patient.

Make sure it is compatable

this lense takes really nice pictures, but the auto focus is not compatable with the Nikon D5000 which was dissapointing. For the price of the lense i dont think that it gets much better

Great lens for an affordable price

I've used this lens in different scenarios but I took the best of it during dayligth in open spaces. I never tried doing some consistent macros yet but I'll certainly do. It is a little heavy to be carried when you are doing some trekking so you have to cut weight in other stuff if possible (extra batteries, cables, cleaning kits, etc) Thanks Tamron for an affordable option to us, the newbies with low budgets!!

Good Value, Mulit-Use lens

I purchased this lens as an inexpensive solution for long-distance photography -- and I've actually been surprised by what it can do! Without an image stabilizer, non-tripod shots are limited (in low light; bright shots are usually fine). But when I took this lens to an Ultimate Frisbee game, I was shocked by how clear some of the action shots were, even on an overcast day. The only downsides to this lens are the size (It's huge! But it makes me look more professional... *wink*) and the focusing (which can be a bit slow; but it hasn't caused any problems so far). However, the lens seems quite sturdy and rugged, which is wonderful! Overall, I'm very pleased with the lens, and you can't beat the price!

Not Bad!

For the price you can't go wrong. I have taken some fantastic sharp photos with this lens. The nice thing is the cost and not having to worry about it if you drop it on a hike.

Made the right choice

I am very satisfied with the ease of mounting lens and use. Close ups and zoom shots are great. Been using it almost everyday since I bought it in late August. Very good buy for its price.

good lens for a good price

I've used this product to cover events for which it does an excellent job. I couldn't have asked for a better priced zoom lens and it was everything I was hoping it would be.

Great Range!

This is a great lens to start out with! It's kinda slow to zoom if your in a hurry. I haven't had any problem with blurring yet!

good lens, just slooow

I like this lens, has great color, good bokeh, and is sharp. My only con, and this is big, it focuses sooooooo slowly. And I mean, slow.

Great lens for the money

Bought this for a Canon EOS Rebel XSI that will get rough use. Obviously not the fastest lens, but works perfectly for daytime, and is a great bargain.

What you pay is what you get

I bought this lens about one year ago, and I'm very pleased with it. It has a nice depth of field, sharp contrast on medium range distances, but a slow focus mechanism. At this price, I cannot complain.

Excellent lens.....

Bought this lens from a friend when I wore out my Canon USM lens. (He had only used it twice since he bought it) I have had the lens over a year and have used it as my main lens for model photography. Within a year I have shot over 90, 000 images with it and and is still kicking.

Nice lens for the money

I've been using this lens pretty happily for almost a year now and my only complaint is that it's heavy. I get great shots from far away, so flora and fauna can be captured close up even though I'm not.

This extended-range zoom offers true telephoto capability ideal for a variety of applications including sports and wildlife shooting. The lens also features the capability to provide beautifully blurred background to high light the main subject in portraiture, or "compression effects" that make the most of the telephoto lens.
