Finally Working

from Sharpsville, PA  -  High bandwidth user

The unit is finally working after 2 calls to the support center and a very lucky fix found on the internet. The conections are now fast and stay as long as I am on the web. Nice compact unit and the price is right. The fix is. Make sure you have your lap top power setting set to performance or you will have fits trying to keep your connection when on battery. This little tid bit of information would have been very helpful when setting up.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  I tried to install this router with the software disc. It never gave me the install option.I had to take it to the dealer and have them set it up.Now how can I change my settings? My desktop does not even have it on the program I can't do anything except use it.
JERRY H  I'm afraid I cannot be a whole lot of help. I checked the program listing and there is nothing for Trendnet on my computer hard drive. I also had a terrible time installing my unit and had to call Trendnet support at 1-866-845-3673 and talked to a technician who finally got the unit to work properly. When I switched from DSL to Cable I had the same problem but the cable installer was able to get everything back on line for me before he left my house. As far as installing something to your wired computer goes, I think the only thing that is set up is the router itself. It is configured to broadcast the ip signal from your hard wire to any WiFi capable products within the range of your router. It will work even without a computer hooked up after the initial set up is complete. I hope this helps a little and I would strongly suggest you call Trendnet.
