Five stars because for the price this is a steal. I have had one of these for a few years and so far no issues. I liked it so much I bought one for my daughter who is just starting out. Holds my Panasonic DMC-G6 and kit lens with no problem. It is light weight so don't expect miracles in the wind, but for a small and inexpensive tripod it cannot be beat. It comes with a carrying case which is quite rugged and well built. I wind up using it more than my larger tripod because I don't mind carrying it with me even when I am not sure if I will be needing a tripod. It is small, light and still fully functional. As the saying goes, "you get what you pay for", but in this case you get a little more. The construction is somewhat light duty, but just baby it and you will get lots of use out of it. There is a quick release plate that seems to fit any way you install it, so you should not have any problems getting it to fit the bottom of your camera. Don't expect fluid movement for video, but for for a small tripod that you barely notice you are carrying it really is a great deal.

This is great for a quick shoot or if you need something versatile and lightweight! I use it for indoor shooting in my office until I get something studier, but this is an excellent placeholder.

I bought this because it was the cheapest and lightest tripod I could find for an overseas trip. It is not particularly sturdy and I would not trust it with a very heavy lens rig, but it is ideal for light travel photography where you don't want to lug around a bunch of heavy equipment. The tripod is shorter than I would have liked, but would probably be fine if you added a ball head.

Perfect for shooting video with a point-and-shoot camera, but don't expect it to be able to handle a heavier DSLR with a telephoto. Use it within its limitations, and you'll be happy.

This is a convenient light weight tripod for that time when you find that unexpected opportunity for great shot. I have mine in the car trunk.

it does the job but plastic head is really cheap and leg is really thin,i handle it with the fear of breaking it each time i use it. i tried in shop the sunpack 5858d, it felt much more sturdy for a weight and folded length that's almost similar.

I bought a bunch of these tripods when they were on sale and thank goodness I didn't spend a lot on them, because they only last a few times. I have had several break, mainly the head just snaps off. Cheaply made and not durable at all! Totally disappointed in this product.

I use the product for travel, using both for my camcorder and full frame camera. I also use it as a monopod as it is so light. The head is strong enough for use even though I have to be extremely careful with my full frame camera and pro mid range zoom. Completely worry free with consumer camcorder, using both as monopod and tripod. It is so cheap that you can think of it as disposable. It even come with a good carrying pouch. Strongly recommended as a cheap, light weight and sturdy enough for most usage.

Bought this for travel and stuck it in my check-in luggage. The cost was so low that if it was stolen it wouldn't be a big deal. It is very light and has a travel case. I used it a few times and it held my Nikon DF and 28-300 lens easily, although I wouldn't walk away and leave it unattended.

I do alot of hiking and needed a lightweight compact tripod to put in day pack for my Fujifilm S4800 bridge type camera. Just got this camera fits sturdy on mount. I am only 5'3 so height is fine. I would not put heavy camera with long lens on this but that is not what I have. For an inexpensive tripod it looks good. Comes with a nice bag and it fits in my pack perfectly.

I am using this lightweight tripod for my Nikon 5100 with 18-105 lens. My camera with lens is heavy but the tripod is good to support.

This was a better product then I expected.I use it with my Canon Powershot SX260HS. First use was Fireworks worked very good. I bought it to use with my pocket Camera for ease of carry. For fun shooting I us the lighter gear and use my D200 and big lens with heavy tripod for serious work. For what I bought it for it was a great buy! Iam a retired Photographer who still loves to take pictures.

Light, compact. Despite misgivings noted elsewhere about a lot of plastic construction, I find this a very useful extra tool, mainly because it is pretty compact, doesn't weigh a lot. It won't replace my Bogen or my Miller sticks, but I'd much rather carry this one on location when I don't need the heavier-duty ones on a gig. It also is handy to support light-duty LED lights and stuff like that. Great buy. Great product. I'm happy.

Some facts: It's cheap. It's small. It works in a pinch. It actually works quite well for compact, mirrorless, and small film cameras. For those you probably don't need anything sturdier. It worked fine with my Olympus EPL1. It (weakly) held my D7000 and 18-70 and worked fine with a shutter release or timer. Otherwise it's a little wobbly. You're pushing your luck leaving a big camera on this tripod unattended. It's also a little short, but that allows it to be more stable and pack smaller. Keep it in the trunk for those times you wish you had a tripod!

Stay in your trunk as a backup, in case if you need a tripod.

I wanted some inexpensive tripods to have around for multi-camera video work. These are pretty decent little tripods. I used them on a recent trip to the Gulf Coast. Actually set one up in the water (the camera was a waterproof action camera). They are very lightweight and user friendly.

...you actually carry it with you. This particular tripod is light, as sturdy as plastic can be, and costs less than a scotch and soda and any bar in New York.

This product does exactly what it said it would do: supports a small camera. I wouldn't use it for a heavy professional DSLR, but it's perfect for my compact and my entry-level DSLR. It's compact, sturdy enough, easy to use and comes with a bag! I think I'll buy another one.

Best use is when you don't want to lug a tripod in the first place or you want to get a speedlight on a tripod.

I bought this for use when traveling and it is a great product when you need to travel light. I use my Nikon point and shoot and the tripod is stable enough to get crisp, sharp images. It is easy to use and very portable. This tripod cannot be beat for the price.

I bought this for traveling in Europe. The tripod is lightweight and easy to pack and use. The camera plate is of less expensive plastic, but it works well and creates a solid lock with the head. Because this is a very lightweight tripod it tends to flex under pressure. My camera is the lightweight Nikon Coolpix P80, though and I had no problems when using the self-timer with the legs fully extended. As with any tripod, it is most sturdy with the legs collapsed and least with them fully extended. I didn't try my DSLRs with this tripod but do not think I would achieve adequate stability for critical shots. As a comparison, during my travels I met a traveler who brought his DSLR, lenses and heavy duty tripod on a two week vacation. He was regretting it within the first few days, and especially after seeing my gear! Unless you are taking professional shots I recommend leaving the big gear at home.

I bought this to steady my camera for shots of geckos. I've never had/used a tripod before and I wasn't quite sure what the different knobs did (took me a minute to figure out how to get the legs out). But other than that, it's pretty great for the price.

It's a great little tripod. Very lightweight. Our use case is for taking basic portraits at home and I could see us using it while traveling (it's very compact). It's not heavy duty so I wouldn't recommend it for the folks who would use it on a daily basis. I think it's really intended for occasional use. The head has a great range of motion and I like the quick clip. It also has a level. It was exactly what we needed and at the right price!

Most of the construction feels quite sturdy and it handles well. The bubble-level is a nice addition.

Aiptek ZAC-STD-5 is an inexpensive, compact and lightweight tripod, perfect for use with point and shoot, mirrorless, and compact video cameras. Sturdy aluminum legs give you great shooting stability while a 3-way panhead provides smooth pan and tilt movements.
