Exceleent Light Duty Release

Great product for light-duty use.

Not Impressed

I bought this to attach my flash to a Stroboframe bracket. I wanted something small, lightweight, and easy to use. I didn't need something ultra durable like the Manfrotto quick release which i also have and love. This product just doesn't fit the bill. It is poorly constructed and the process of attaching and releasing the shoe is neither quick nor easy, especially in a dark environment, which is often the case during event shoots. It even came out of the package covered in oil.

Disappointed

By

from Virginia  -  Photo Enthusiast

I purchased two of the Adorama Tripod Quick Release Shoe - Small and am very disappointed with the quality and workmanship of the product. Mounted on my tripod and after mounting the camera to the tripod, then it would not release camera from mount. Had to tear it apart to get camera removed from tripod mount. The second mount works okay but not nearly as smooth as the ones (2 other) I had purchased from another vendor two years ago, but doesn't offer the product anymore.

Poor copy of fine Japanese-made original

By

A poor copy of the Vivitar original. If the tolerances were closer and better material was used it would be a very useful mount, like the original Japanese-made Vivitar. Sadly it is an inferior copy. Pass on it.

Quick Release

By

from Waco, Texas  -  Semi-pro Photographer

I have used this small quick release for over 30 years and find it super easy to use. It has never failed me in the field. I do a lot of cave photograph and use the quick release in total darkness and find it easy and reliable to use. Out doors I can carry the camera on the tripod and not worry it will ever fall off. This quick release is perfect for 35mm and is OK for 120 such as the Hasselblad.

Nice design, bad thread

By

from Allenown, PA  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

Very nice, well built quick release shoe. However, the base mounting thread will NOT accomodate the thread in a tripod such as the Slik Mini-Pro V. You either have to re-tap the existing thread in the quick release shoe or find a tripod to which it will attach. Stupid thread choice. Too bad!

Questions about this item:

Arthur B  Will this adapt to my Sears video camera tripod model no.938.84041?
Jill E  I would think that as long as the thread size for the tripod mount is the same it should work on any tripod/camera combo.
Shopper  Will this shoe work with a P5CFH flat folding tripod with K2 Ballhead?
HERTSEL C  I am not sure what a P5CFH is. But the shoe is universal, so it probably will work for you. Another point is: It is inexpensive so just buy one and try it
Shopper  I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS ADORAMA TRIPOD QUICK RELEASE SHOE -MALL WILL FIT AN AMBICO V-0552 TRIPOD?
HERTSEL C  In all honesty I don't know. Just buy one and try it, it is abouot $10 or so, not expensive to try. Your camera most likely has a 1/4 connection at the bottom so this should fit.
