Almost destroyed a 5D Mark II and a Canon 2.8F IS 70-200mm when the cheap aluminum mount pin sheered off on the very first use. Thankful for quick reflexes motivated by possible consequences of dropping camera from chest height. It's a shame. Love the smaller version 320. Tremendous for low angle shots on variable surfaces with gripping capability, water resistance, padding and sense of security.

I was intrigued by the design of this tripod thing. While I have an assortment of tripods, several of which are small for macro in tight places. My personal favorite when trucking around in the woods is the beautifully designed Ultrapod II (hasn't changed design in over 20 years - that says a lot!). What I do like about is it's potential to kind of double as a protective case that will do double duty as a tripod in a pinch. It will get it's first hardcore test in a couple of weeks. My only wish for it so far is that I wish they also added a another mound on the underside so I could pop the whole thing onto a monopod - that would give it a lot more versatility. I was a little dubious about the magnet mount but it is strong and has a secondary hold fast. I have high hopes for this.

Great support provided to the camera and even with a 300mm lens it supported it quite well. Great as well for macro shots of flowers in the 'wild' as if provides one to get quite close to teh subject, all while providing great support.
