I bought this specifically for my wife for travel. She has difficulty walking and likes to video but can't hold the camera still. This item solves both problems. I was pleasantly surprised that the "kit" also included a regular tripod head in addition to the ball head and a small table-top tripod, neither of which are mentioned in the ad for this item, but all which are interchangeable with each other. They all however fit comfortably in the travel case.

As a pod this product will work fine as a support for lightweight equipment used casually. If you want a walking staff that can double as a camera support, this should be considered.

I purchased this unit for use while hiking, and found it very useful both as a walking aid and camera support for my DSLR. The kit is quite compact, and assembly is easy if you pay attention to the sequence. A bit of colored tape where different sections mate may be a help for some, but I had no problems. I had been looking at monopods for some time, and found this to be a very functional design and well constructed.

I have been searching for the perfect on the go tripod, monopod. So far this is the best, the tripod feature needs time to stabilize, I would not recommend for long exposures. But it allows for steady video with my video camcorder. And if it is great for long focal length lenses. And allows you to be in the shots. Remember your remote control for your camera so you don't have to distub the camera as it will take a bit of time to stabilize also not recommended for a windy area.

Very versatile piece of equipment.

This is an improvement over a monopod--hiking pole, a little heavier, but brings camera level higher and allows hands-free operation. Naturally, it's not as steady as a sturdy tripod, but I don't always want to carry one.
