I shoot a lot outdoors where I'm in the field for hours and I have to carry my equipment some distance. When I need to transport almost everything, I have an Expedition 6x but it is quite heavy when fully loaded and the backpack design doesn't allow for easy access to the equipment. I was looking for a bag that could carry my D7000 along with 2-3 lenses, filters, batteries and a few other odds and ends. I looked at sling design bags that would carry my most frequently used equipment and still allow easy access. This bag does just that although I could probably have chosen the smaller Velocity 7z and been just as happy. It can carry a lot, be used like a backpack while trekking to the shoot, then be pulled around front for easy access when I'm ready to shoot. The best of both worlds. I usually put everything in the bigger Expedition 6x to drive to the location and then transfer just what I need into the Velocity 8z when I set off on foot.
