Questions & Answers

Shopper : How many lenses will fit comfortably. I have 5, plus the one attached to my D800 ? Thanks C. SmithJUDY B : Hi, I think that it would not be quite big enough.KEN H : Good morning, I purchased this backpack two years ago, and used it on my trip to Europe. I loved it, plenty of room for all the goodies with my camera and 3 lenses. I use it all the time now, I am a property manager in Kailua Hawaii, and when I set up a place for rent and ads on the net. Very handy with my job. I would recommend it. Hope this helps.DAVID G : I have a Nikon d7100 and three lenses and that is a fairly tight fit. Buy a larger backpack. It is very well designed however.
arthur k : I have a Benro A2690TBH1 tripod Will this work with this backpack? Where will this be attached to the pack? on the side or in the middle Art K.JESSLYN B : You would have to attach it to the middle as there is no option to carry/attach it on the side. There is a foot holder near the bottom of the pack, and a small strap right in the middle on the front. It serves it's purpose, but my Manfroto tripod is a bit taller than the pack itself when it's completely collapsed, so I usually end up carrying it to keep it from being too top heavy or unbalanced, especially if I plan on swinging the pack around in front of me a lot to get my camera.DENNIS D : I believe you can still attach it in the middle. My Benro tripod is smaller than the A2690TBH1. You should try it and see how it sits in the center of the bag.Steve R : Art, This bag is nice. But not for carrying tripods. The small pocket you see here at the bottom of the front of the bag is for the tripod foot. The upper strap is intended to go around it to support it at the top.Problem is this bag is simply to small to do the job. If you have a Camera body and one extra lens this bag is amazing and will protect your gear well. If you use a grip, the side pocket cannot accomodate it. I had to move up to a larger bag for my needs. The tripod you have will stick out a long ways over the top. In my opinion anything larger than a Macro tripod does not work well. Good LuckJAKE W : Don't know about your specific tripod, but I was able to use mine just fine with this backpack. I attach my tripod to the outside middle where the loop is. There is a little foot at the bast of the pack that you can attach one of the tripod legs to, but I didn't use it because I was happy with the tripod just hanging free from the larger strap which you can make nice and snug so the tripod doesn't swing around. I really like my backpack--it holds all your gear if you don't have a giant collection of lenses, etc., and it's really comfortable to wear.
Shopper : I'm looking for a ****** for ******. Do you think this would work well for that? Other recommendations?KEN H : I purchased this bag for a trip I took to Europe in September 2010. This bag worked so well. I loved it. Now I use it in my business. I am a property manager in Hawaii and take all my own shots for adverstising on my web site. KensAvenue.com - I can grab my bag and off to the property. i can walk the property with bag on and shot away. Easy to handle, easy to pull around and use as tri-pod, or grab a different len, flash, battery. I carry everything in it, so I am always ready to hit the road. Buying this bag to me was a great investment in myself and my business. I use it all the time both in business and play. My bag works for me. Thanks for letting me share. Aloha from Hawaii Ken

Perfect for my needs.

This is the first camera bag I have owned and I am very happy with it. I just recently purchased a T3i and have been looking for some sort of bag to carry it in. I wanted something that would be comfortable to carry around, large enough to hold all of my camera accessories plus a little more, small enough I wouldn't mind taking it along with me, and I didn't want it to scream "CAMERA BAG" so it would be less noticeable I was carrying a DSLR. This bag meets all of those requirements. My biggest annoyance is when the straps are adjusted to fit me comfortably (I am a small guy), there is a lot of extra strap hanging. I wish there was some convenient way to tuck them away so I don't have to either cut them or come up with some creative way to hide all the extra strap. The construction feels solid, zippers are strudy, velcro is strong.

Just what I wanted!

The best feature is that nearly every piece of photography equipment stores in the bag--no more forgetting that one critical thing you have to have on a trip. Very easy to access all your gear, and knowing the rain cover is there makes you feel better about going out in iffy weather.

Love this bag

Bought this so I can bring my gear to the bahamas for a cruise. I got a 7D, a 28-135mm, 17-55mm and a 50mm and LED120 light and light meter on the bottom part and A kodak playsport, my wallet, sunglasses, batteries, CF cards on the top part and I even brought my Steadicam Merlin and Benro tripod placed on the outside of the bag. Very versatile! I just used is as a backpack though. Not as a sling bag.

Tamrac's new Evolution Series backpacks provide an unprecedented level of versatility. With their unique harness system, the Evolution Series backpacks can be carried three ways - as a backpack, as a sling pack over the right shoulder, or as a sling pack over the left shoulder.

There are also three ways to access equipment using Tamrac's Triple Access System. When carried as backpacks, the two foam-padded shoulder straps, waist belt and chest strap distribute the weight. For quick access to equipment, slip off one shoulder strap and swing the pack around to the front. Once in front, a side door can be opened to access a DSLR with a lens attached and other photo gear. To get to additional equipment, swing the pack around to the opposite shoulder and open the side door on the other side of the pack.

To carry the Evolution Series backpacks as sling packs, cross-connect a single shoulder strap, red to red for carrying on the right shoulder, or blue to blue for carrying on the left shoulder. The other shoulder strap is easily tucked away. When the packs are removed, all gear can be accessed through the door to the main compartment. The internal dividers are foam padded and adjustable. A Windowpane-Mesh accessory pocket inside the front door is ideal for keeping small accessories visible and organized.
