Questions & Answers

Shopper : reviews?NEAL L : As is typical for ThinkTankPhoto products, this bag has excellent sturdy construction, and is generally well-thoiught out. You will not use this bag for carrying all of your gear, because it is not a general-purpose shoulder bag that you can load up with various accessories, camera bodies, etc. Rather, this bag is excellent for carrying out its specific intended function: allowing you to carry three (or more) spare lenses. I say "or more" because, with shorter lenses, you can stack them in one of the compartments; if you do that, you might want to take some spare padding from another back to place between them in the stack. This is, for me, more a working bag than a transport bag in that I usually need to transport more than just a few lenses. However, you can drop a body with mounted lens into the central "tube" and thus have a compact bag for carrying a few lenses and one mounted body. If you are looking for a bag to carry on the specific purpose of keeping several lens changes with you while working or moving about, highly recommended (assuming you prefer a shoulder bag format to, for instance, a belt-and-pouch arrangement. I will note, however, that overall I wind up using my TTP belt and pouches far more than this bag for a very practical reason: I try as much as possible to keep the weight off my shoulders for long periods of time, and this bag can be heavy when loaded up with 3 or 4 pro lenses.NORMAN L : This bag is WELL made with a comfortable shoulder padding. I use this to carry my Nikon 70-200mm with the hood, Nikon 28-70mm and use the third slot for SB-800 on weddings. I spent so much money on my equipment and I can honestly say that the quality of this bag definitely make it feel secure. I highly recommend this one for sure. Borrowed a friend's Shootsac once and never again!DELOYD H : A great bag...i keep it in my car, along with my big equipment bag that has way too much to cary. When I go out for a few shots or for an afternoon, it is a perfect bag to throw a n extra lens or two, some accessories, cards, batteries and have all you need for a specific shoot. it is strong and durable, looks great but does not look like camera gear. Good closures, great size, and a perfect companion.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?NEAL L : I'm a bagaholic. I was looking for a bag just to carrying around my lens changes when carrying a body/lens over my shoulder, say for a photo walk. Honestly, I don't use this bag very much as I tend to use my TTP belt and pouches much more.

Great bag

Love this bag for lens swapping on the go! Comfortable strap that keeps bag in position nicely. Of course I love the velcro silencers to remain stealthy when needed. Great material that seems almost military grade for longevity. Love the extra storage pocket on the front for card wallet, and the zippered pocket on the back for misc. items like batteries or an ipad!

Better than my Shootsac

I love that it is so easy to grab my lenses from this bag. I was a little worried that the padding was only on the bottom (and not wrapped around as well), but it has not been an issue. Lots of pockets for my stuff, shoulder strap is comfortable. I ordered Pinestone - it looked grey online, but to me it is a grey with a greenish base or tint. Not a biggie, just an observation.

Great product. Very well made and fit

Great bag. I can throw in a 24-70 with hood on, a 50L on the outside slots and a 5D3 in the middle and have it as a nice walk around bag. The back slot can fit an Ipad4 nicely

A perfect working bag...

I shoot crime scene photography, so I was looking for a bag to carry an extra lens (macro), flash, meter, and other needed equipment while I worked. Since I needed to be able to move around in close quarters, a full-size bag was out. The reduced size of the 3GR was a perfect fit. I use the outer two compartments for my lenses, with the center pocket holding my SB800 flash and my Sekonic L608 meter. The zippered pocket allows me to carry scales, batteries, labels, pens, notepad, and anything else I need without added bulk. My camera hangs from a Black Rapid strap, so I can comfortably work with both hands at need without having to lay anything down. Although this comes with a very effective rain cover, I applied scotchgard for a bit of added protection. The lack of padding (which reduces bulk considerably) is a benefit for me, since I transport my kit in SKB hard cases, and only load the 3GR when I work. The pinestone is softer and more comfortable than the black in my opinion, being made from the softer cotton canvas. I also like the plainer, cleaner, non-tactical look of the pinestone. The 3GR is tough enough for daily professional use, and comfortable enough that you will actually use it.

A DREAM CONCEPT

It is always difficult to carry several lenses and a camera, especially when shooting outdoors. This bag does that so well. Fast access to your lenses to make a quick change. Room for 3 lenses, a card wallet, flash, batteries and other stuff in the rear compartment. thin rain cover, wide comfortable adjustable web strap. Love the flap cover that can be securely closed with powerful velcro, OR for those times when you might want to quietly and frequently change lenses, a clever way to hide the Velcro so the bag opens fast and quiet. Great idea. there is padding at the bottom of each lens compartment offering extra protection. looking at the bag, it is NOT a camera bag, and looks like a guy/gal shoulder bag anyone might carry. Easily holds a Canon 70-200 2.8, 100-400 and another lens of equal or smaller size, expender, cards, batteries and more. Great bag. Good price.

Beats Boda V3!

While just a tad heavy in construction, the 3-GR gives very quick access to 3 lenses while walking about. Great for chasing kids and pets and have multiple lenses available. I keep my lenses in it all the time, take off hoods and covers when shooting. Cover can be a bit of a nuisance - but can be folded behind bag. DEF Good Stuff!

Excellent Bag

Excellent bag! The only thing that I would change about it would be to add an additional outside pocket to fit a flash like an SB-900 or 580EX II.
