About Think Tank V2.0

The Think Tank Speed Demon V2.0 Bag is hybrid shoulder bags/belt packs designed for photographers who value versatile and ergonomic camera bags. First and foremost a contoured shoulder bag, the Speed Convertibles keep photo gear readily accessible. The wide opening flip-top design hinges away from the body to rapidly work in and out of the bag. As a shoulder bag, the Speed Convertibles offer durable zippers, a secondary main compartment entry and multiple pockets for small accessories. A cushioned shoulder strap with a long section of padding maximizes comfort while carrying the bag in different positions.

To adapt a Speed Convertible bag as a belt pack, deploy the integrated waist belt which is conveniently concealed in two zippered pockets on either side. Fastening the flexible belt around the waist provides better stability while walking, especially when used in tandem with the included shoulder strap. Fastening the flexible belt around the waist provides better stability while walking, especially when used in tandem with the included shoulder strap. The waist belt also features Modular rail sections for attaching Modular, Skin or Multimedia components to increase gear carrying capacity as needed.

Think Tank V2.0 Features

  • Carries one standard size DSLR plus 2-3 small zoom or prime lenses
  • Main compartment opens wide and the lid folds away from the body for easy access to gear. The Speed Convertibles easily fit different types of DSLR cameras and lenses. Pictured: Canon 5D with 50 f1.2 attached (lens hood reversed) and 17-40 f4 beside
  • Can be worn either as a shoulder bag or as a belt pack with the Think Tank convertible system
  • The integrated waist belt "disappears" by tucking into zippered side pockets. This unique convertible system is designed to minimize bulkiness while carrying the Speed Demon V2.0 as a shoulder bag
  • Back side shown with integrated belt completely tucked away
  • Modular rail on each side of belt allows attachment of Modular Rotation System components for increased gear capacity. Using the integrated belt with the shoulder strap helps balance weight distribution between the waist and shoulder
  • Belt pack configuration with shoulder strap employed for support. Using the integrated belt with the shoulder strap helps balance weight distribution between the waist and shoulder. Photographers can carry more gear, easier and with less discomfort, by carrying the bag in this mode
  • Belt pack configuration without shoulder strap
  • A Skin 50 component attached to the Modular Rail of the Speed Freak V2.0 with the detachable shoulder strap providing additional support. Using the integrated belt with the shoulder strap helps balance weight distribution between the waist and shoulder
  • Detachable, cushioned shoulder strap included
  • Non-slip coating on shoulder strap prevents strap from sliding off the shoulder
  • Breathable mesh lining on the back of the Speed Convertible bags and integrated belt help keep you ventilated and cool
  • Metal Buckle Stops on either side of the main belt buckle prevent the belt from loosening past their positions during vigorous movement. For proper use of the Buckle Stops, click on the Support tab above and download the Buckle Stops instructions
  • A zipper across the top of the bag allows access to small lenses or accessories without opening the main zipper
  • A clear accessory pocket is also underneath the lid, which holds small accessories like extra pens, a small multi-tool or a tube of sunscreen
  • A flat pocket, for lens caps or filters, is inside the main compartment, toward the front of the bag
  • Front organizer pocket keeps important accessories easily accessible. Handy features such as dedicated pen pockets and a built-in lanyard for securing keys or a memory card wallet are standard with each Speed Convertible bag
  • A bellowed pocket is at the very front of the bag for carrying certain items, like a smart phone, separately from other gear
  • A wide pocket on the back side of the Speed Convertible bags can keep a notepad and pen in easy reach to jot down notes during a shoot
  • Top carrying handle for quickly grabbing the bag when you need to go
  • Stretchable side pockets with reinforced bases are on either side of the bag. These can be used to carry miscellaneous items like gloves and a hand-held radio
  • The Speed Convertible Series, like all Think Tank Photo gear, is made with the highest quality materials like ballistic nylon and YKK RC Fuse zippers
  • A seam-sealed rain cover is included with Speed Demon bag. It is stored inside a mesh pocket within the front accessory pocket. The detachable blue lanyard (connected to the red fabric loop) keeps the rain cover from blowing away in high winds
  • The seam-sealed rain cover attached to the bag. The Rrin cover provides the initial layer of protection, keeping water from seeping in through zippers or fabric seams

Perfect for traveling too. Easy to pack and configure for a day's photographic needs. Carry only what you need. Very comfortable when paired with the Pro Speed Belt.

Perfection on Wheels

With a little thought you can configure this bag to hold almost anything...and then add more. It's depth is it's greatest advantage over others.

Too fragile mesh back, otherwise great b

By

Wears extremely easily. This would otherwise be a 5 star product. Yes, it's pricey. Normally, I don't mind paying more for more quality. It typically works out better overall that way. And, most of the bag is quality. Unfortunately, the mesh on the side that stays against your body is absurdly fragile. See the attached picture. I got the bag a couple of weeks ago. Finally got a chance to use it on a family vacation to Hawaii. After one week of light use, you can see extensive damage in the mesh. We just wore the typical cotton shorts, shirts, and dresses. Otherwise, it was swimwear which should be made of material even more fragile than the mesh. At most, it may have pressed against the leather of my belt, but I wore my shirts untucked so it's unlikely. The rest of the bag still looks brand new, as you would expect after only a week of light use. It's well thought out too. Much better design in all the little details than the Lowepro it replaced. However, Lowepro is far cheaper and our bags still are in great condition with basically no wear showing after years of use. This bag is great, but I really can't recommend it when you're paying that much for a bag that fragile. This would be a problem on any of their Speed Waist Pack lines or any other bag they have that has mesh on the back. I e-mailed their warranty department about it. It's not under warranty because it's damage and not a manufacturing defect. I thought it was damage too. I just thought it was abnormal that it would wear so quickly so badly. Since they feel this is "normal", I thought it was necessary to warn others how fragile this bag is.

Small, but Wow

By

Wow, what a bag. I've been using the Think Tank Glass Taxi backpack for years. I really like it and have carried it for weeks at a time around the world in tough situations. It has been great except I keep putting it on the ground to change lenses. Sometimes missing the shot. I was assigned to New Orleans on Halloween and I didn't want a backpack in that crowd. So I choose the Speed Freak. I used the belt strap and the shoulder strap which positioned the bag forward. Nothing could move or swing. I had fast access to my lenses (16 to 35 mm; 50mm and 70 to 200 mm) I had the 24 to 105 mm on the camera. The tight fit against my body and reverse opening lid were very secure. The "slit" zipper on the top was also very nice for secure transfer. The bag is tight for the 16 to 35 mm Canon with a shade. No room for the camera. I had the 600 flash in a side pocket and a bottle of beer in the other. (It's New Orleans on Halloween!) But I would not want to own larger bag of the same design. (too big to bend over) The waist band did give me some discomfort in my thigh muscles after several hours. But I'm old. At the airport I still had my Glass Taxi backpack with Speed Freak hanging from it. By combining the bags, I made the two into a single for TSA regulations of two carry on bags. At one point I used the bags to carry a complete Lumix GS3 kit with lenses on the street. This bag is not large enough to be the entire kit of 4 lenses, a body and flash. It is a great companion. I can't wait to use it at a wedding with just 2 lenses.

Loved at first, then the feet wore out

By

I have a lot of think tank stuff, wallets, multiple bags, two large holsters, a modular belt system/harness, and the Streetwalker HardDrive backpack. This bag is generally smart and really well designed, but after a little over a year the front rubber feet wore out so much that the front nylon part of the case began to scrape the ground and TEAR OPEN. Think Tank, WHO ACTUALLY MAKES FUN of Pelican'sLifetime Warranty in their materials, saying that they are "reasonable" actually told me that 16 months for the feet to wear almost completely away was "reasonable wear and tear." They wouldn't even SELL me a new set of feet. For a case as expensive as this, I expected better. So it's probably good for the occasional vacation traveler, but if you use it daily, it WONT HOLD UP AT ALL. Do what I did and replace it with a Pelican, whose products are pretty bomb-proof and when they do wear out they replace them with new pieces

Comfortable, well-padded belt with additional locks to prevent the belt adjustment from changing due to equipment weight.

Deceptive images for this product

By

I purchased this product by looking mainly at the images provided. All images show the product with a harness that is not included. At least one should show it by itself so the customer knows exactly what they are getting for their $17. The product I received was way overpriced. I am hesitant at buying any product from Adorama since I cannot fully trust their advertising. Look very closely!
