Very easy and smooth ordering process. Came very quickly, even with covid. The eye piece it did the ip's is great regarding the eye relief. Would highly recommend this piece.

Oh wow!!! It’s so wide I can still use it to do the alignments. But yes views are beautiful.

The wide angle lets you see the moon close up and fits the entire moon in the viewer. It's my go to lense for showing objects in the sky.

Scanning starfields across Milky Way yields gazillions of pinpoints of starlight! Serves up clusters, nebulae galore! Observing Saturn yields planetary banding, and gap between planet and rings! Pros: great brightness, contrast and resolution Cons: pricey...

I use it with permanent f/4.5 29-inch Dob, Paracorr and Dioptrx. That's a lot of glass! The field is SO wide that although can see it all looking straight in, must move head to concentrate on edges. Measured throughputs in photometric labs: R=94.7%, G=93.7%, B=91.7% attest to great MARC coatings throughout. Wonderful on remote galaxies. Get one 13mm for your favorite higher mag - full set would be overkill. Use Naglers for other EFLs. Best on fast Dobs, overkill on slow scopes. Buffalo club visited and were all +++ impressed.

I have used this 6mm eyepiece coupled with a small barlow on a TV-85 to get wonderfully close, sharp views of the moon, planets and other deep sky objects. As with other Ethos pieces, the field of view gives a whole new meaning to the phrase "space walk" - you get the feeling you're looking out a space craft. [...]

This is great in both my TV 85 and 4" Genesis. Yes, it is a little expensive but the stunning views will make you forget. Sell a few of your other eyepieces to afford it if you have to. You'll be glad you did.

I have had the most stunning views of the Moon that I have EVER seen through this eyepiece. The Veil Nebula (with an O-III filter) was breathtaking! I am getting rid of other eyepieces because this is mostly what I use now.

How does the 8mm Ethos-SX 2"/1.25" Eyepiece revolutionize your stargazing experience Unveiled at NEAF 2008, Tele Vue introduced this innovative eyepiece, boasting a remarkable 100-degree Apparent Field of View (AFOV). Not only does it match the key performance criteria of its 13mm counterpart, but it also offers parfocal compatibility with Radians, Plossls, Type 6 Naglers, and 1.25" Panoptics in 1.25" focusers.
This eyepiece's lighter weight and smaller diameter make it an ideal choice for binocular viewers and those using spotting scope setups with the Tele Vue 60½ 1.25" diagonal. When compared to the Tele Vue 8-24mm Zoom eyepiece, the 8mm Ethos outperforms with the power of the 8mm Zoom and an impressive 83% of the field of the 24mm setting.
One of the key advantages of this eyepiece is the combination of a large apparent field of view and shorter focal length. This combination allows for higher magnification, resulting in a darker sky background. This enhances the visibility of fainter stars and provides more detail on all deep sky objects.
The 8mm Ethos-SX 2"/1.25" Eyepiece takes your viewing experience to new heights, offering a significant magnification/contrast boost that reveals dramatic views previously unattainable in any telescope. With its smaller exit pupil, this eyepiece also minimizes eyesight limitations.
This eyepiece delivers a 100-degree apparent field, which is 50% larger in area than 82-degree Naglers. It also offers comfortable eye-relief and accepts DIOPTRX eyesight astigmatism correctors. With its distortion correction, high contrast, and on-axis sharpness, it's the perfect eyepiece for planetary viewing.
In essence, the 8mm Ethos-SX 2"/1.25" Eyepiece is the versatile, "do-it-all" eyepiece that's perfect for all scopes that can utilize this focal length. Experience the universe in a whole new way with this high-quality, durable, and reliable eyepiece.
