It would be almost unthinkable to have a word processor or web browser that you couldn't search. It is a critical part of finding what you need. PhraseFind brings this power to your editing work. When you start an edit for the first time, you won't use it much. But once your familiar with your footage it becomes invaluable. I can remember phrases and keywords that people have said but I usually don't type them into the logging info. Now, within seconds I can type in a few words or even a full sentence and can find the exact spot I am looking for! This tool is really for documentary, which brings me to my main complaint... the price. For this price I think it should be bundled with ScriptSync. That being said, I am not looking back on my purchase. I was surprised at how fast it indexed my footage. I opened a project with over 24 hours of 3-camera multi-cam interviews and let it sit while I went to dinner (It does work in the background, but I just wanted to let it do it's thing while I ate). Two hours later (which I could have been editing as well) it was done indexing all 24 hours! Outstanding! I tested it out with single words and whole sentences and it found them every time. It found the original audio wav files, the single camera synced clips and my Multi-Cam groups -- Brilliant! Interestingly the first two or three results were often wrong, but by the third or fourth in the list it was on the money -- no biggie. I also typed in a sentence I knew was in my interviews somewhere, and even though I got the sentence wrong, it found it -- because enough of my key words were right. Such a thrill! I am just getting into the above mentioned huge documentary edit and I am stoked to have this tool. I plan on using it a ton!
