?? ? : How can I use my NIKKOR FX DSLR LENSE on this MFT camera?JEFF H : look for a micro 4/3 to Nikon lens adapter. It will only work in manual focus. You might consider looking in the "used" camera section for a lumix or Olympus lens to fit. Then it will work with LANC controller and auto features.Benjamin B : Hey there, You need a lens adapter which is very simple to buy and use. Personally, I use a Canon adapter from Fotodiox. They have one available for Nikon as well that you can buy. There are a few here on Adorama if you search around. One from Metabones Speedbooster specifically. It is really good. Once you get it in the mail, screw it on to your camera, then screw on your nikon lens to the adapter mount. You're done and ready to shoot! It's that easy. The one thing you have to remember is there is usually no electronic connection, therefore you will not be able to autofocus or change the f/stop without manually changing them. Hopefully you have a fully manual lens. Let me know if you have anymore questions!John T : Metabones SpeedboosterMICHAEL H : There are adaptors for most lens mounts to MFT, so search for Nikon to MFT adapter. There are cheap ones that just adapt the mount, and more expensive ones (Metabones, very good), which also have optics in them. Hope this helpsbillups p : I think you would need an adaptor which can get pricey I would suggest a MFT micro four thirds lens like an olympus Amazing camera!!
REO Z : the camera says "Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera with Micro Four Thirds Lens Mount" so does it comes with lens?PHILIP L : No, but I think that's fortunate as it lets (makes) you think about the angle of view and aperture you'll want/need for your projects. Don't let the small size fool you. It's a completely Pro system in an unobtrusive (stealthy) package.Benjamin B : It does not come with a lens. You can use Micro Four Third(MFT) lenses or get an MFT lens adapter and use pretty much any lens you please. There are plenty of lens adapters out there available for Canon or Nikon lenses.TRAVIS R : No Lens included. Search Micro Four Thirds or MFT lenses. Lots of options.ANDREW R : Unfortunately no, a lens is not included.
REO Z : Does it come with lens?MICHAEL J : No ir does not.ANDREW L : No. Body only. Get a pile of adapters to use any lens out there.SEBASTIEN P : It does NOT come with any lens, you need to purchase a good micro 4/3 zoom or an adapter for the lenses you already own.ADAM D : Nope, you can purchase them separately .DAVID M : No

Great Things do come in small packages

If your considering becoming more aware of the film plus the post side of shooting and VFX. Then I highly recommend this camera. It's an absolute delight being able to shot small and professional. Having the ability to shot RAW is the the biggest plug of all. Next step is using the free software direct from blaclmagic "Resolve" to grade your film is beyond belief. Just like it's done in the real world of production film making. You can't go wrong with this big boy tool in such a mini size.

Big things come in small packages

This is camera has been a pleasure to use so far. The images I obtain after color grading is exactly the look I've been wanting. If you wish to have a change of pace with your current DSLR, I think this camera is a smart step forward. The pocket cinema camera should not be thought of as a consumer camera. This footage requires color grading in post, which I think is a brilliant way to get one familiar with the color correction process. The downside to this camera are mostly with menu and display options. At first the menu and scrolling buttons can seem frustrating, but I think one can get the hang of this. Also, the camera does not have a time counter, so you have to keep in mind the limits of your memory cards.

Great camera!

I received this camera 2 weeks ago and upgraded the firmware to shoot raw. Wow this camera is incredible! the sharpness is fantastic and the dynamic range is mind boggling. You should be ready to do a lot in post as it shoots completely flat images made for editing. The battery life is not very long as it has a built in cooling system for the imaging chip to prevent noise and overheating. Its a good idea to get a number of batteries to have in back up. I would recommend this to any serious shooter who wants to move to a higher quality image than a DSLR.

BMPC - early results great.

I've had my BMPC for a couple of weeks. Conducted test shoots in San Francisco, NYC and Wash DC with it. Physically, I find the camera to be rugged despite it's diminutive size. It's not a camera for your client or your cousin. It's a serious image maker that requires a willingness to invest beyond the camera body, and a post production workflow. If you've got that, then this camera should definitely be in your kit. The upside is huge.

Blackmagic really delivers Pocket Filmma

I really enjoy using this camera and I love grading the footage that comes out of this camera. I think the only downside to this camera is the buttons and the menu system is disorganized.

Better than my canons...

I love this camera! The image quality rivals that of an arri or red..you don't have to believe me but it's true. Leaps and bounds better than my DSLR's. If color graded correctly the image is amazing! Yes, only 1080P but honestly for most commercial work thats all you really need. It's a bit cumbersome a time due to it's size but once you get past that..you can get excellent looking images!

Worth it.

Everything you have heard it true, the good and the bad. With tough love sometimes, but mostly joy.
