I use that unit at a edit suite with a lot of sources and destinations. Before I used the Blackmagic Videohub Workgroup until I ran out of input connections. The other thing that nerves at Videohub Workgroup, that I it have only USB and no CAT connection. In daily buisiness I use the 1U Blackmagic Smart Control which can only switch over CAT and not over USB. So must always run a small PC for "translating" the CAT signal of Smart Control to USB for Videohub Workgroup. That problem is no solved with Compact Videohub because it has CAT. Compact Videohub works perfect but there is a problem with the PSU if you are using 230V; like me in Germany. In that case the PSU is noisy at a high frequency. That doesn't matter if the unit stays in a technical room but in a quite edit suite it is a mess. I tried 3 different PSUs of that unit but everyone has the same fault. I solve that problem using a 230V to 110V transformator. No the unit run with 110V and everything is fine.

Perfect when you need a bigger router in a small size, such as creative post facilities and broadcast trucks! Compact Videohub includes 40 x 40 SDI routing all packed into a 2 rack unit size! You get auto SD, HD and 3 Gb/s HD-SDI detection, re-clocking, with built in ethernet, USB and serial router control interfaces.
