This is a great drive. I’ve bought 3 now, as my backup needs have expanded. It’s one of the few drives around with a Thunderbolt 2 connection.

These drives are great. Rugged and shock proof. I love the convenience of the 2-pack. The dual access methods of USB and Thunderbolt give me added security that my data won't end up inaccessible due to a banged up port. These are super affordable, especially when compared to the twelve hundred dollars I'm having to pay to recover 3TB of data from a drive that fell off a table while running.

I partition it in two sections, Lacie Share .5G and Lacie 1.5G. The 1.5G is formatted OS Extended Journaled, the .5G is ExFat. ONLY the .5G shows up in my Time Machine list of drives. Both drives show up in Disk Utility and on my desk top as external drives, however, I am not able to use the 1.5G for backup with Time Machine, which is why it was purchased.Thus I am not a happy camper and would not recommend purchasing for a iMac.

Quite straightforward to set up with Time Machine to back up my 2011 MacBook Pro. My computer does not have a USB 3 port but the Thunderbolt cable still gives me a pretty fast back-up.

I purchased this drive specifically to run virtual OS's from. Having a Thunderbolt connection is exactly what I wished for the USB 3 is a bonus. Has a fantastic connection to the computer with a cripple old, poor performing hard drive

I use this hard drive on deployment with my MacBook Pro. The Thunderbolt USB 3.0 requires an adapter to use with the MacBook Pro (2017). The accompanying USB-C cable works fine, but it easily slides out of the hard drive. It sits flush, but pops out easily. I've accidentally disconnected the hard drive multiple times using the USB cord. Otherwise, it's a great product.

The LaCie Rugged 2TB Thuderbolt USB 3.0 Drive is a great match for my tech kit because it is easy to use with all of my Mac computers. I need both Thunderbolt AND USB And this has both. It is even back compatible to USB 2.0. It is quiet and fast. The cable is even stored in the unit itself. It is dependable (so far.). I think it is a great buy and a good piece of tech.

I am using the drive for photos and my Lightroom library. The drive is fast, quiet and seems to be very reliable. The additional padding feels like it will help keep the drive safe. I would recommend this drive.

I've used LaCie rugged drives for years and have always said good things about them, but this was my first Thunderbolt purchase. Setup was easy and it runs beautifully. Definitely worth paying extra for! And the fact that the cord wraps into the hard drive itself is an awesome feature.
