Shopper : tryimg to use for the first time , seems that only has 10 gb of storage?JOHN B : The one I bought works fine and registers all 500 or so GB. I'm using OSX snow leopard. Your OS might not be seeing the drive right. The tools included with the drive in the LaCie folder set up everything almost automatically. What OS are you using? That might be the issue.COLLEEN B : Did you try formatting the drive? If you haven't you should always do that with a new drive.

Junk; Don't Buy

within one month after the purchase of this item it crashed and I was unable to retrieve the data on this drive. I am very protective of my external hard drives, but the external aluminum armor is soft and easily dented. I always keep my hard drives inside a suit case or computer bag while traveling, and even with doing this the case was creased and dented. The my passport by western digital is a much better option.
