DEBORAH D : can this tripod be tilted to shoot vertical?DEBORAH D : Thank you so much Jeffrey-I am a middle school & high school digital photo teacher and want a lightweight but sturdy tripod for the students. The students use 18-55 kit lenses or 50 mm prime lenses so the tilting shouldn't be a problem. I use a Manfroto tripod for my own work-but it is too heavy and too expensive to buy for the school....Have a great day! DebbyJEFFREY P : Yes Debby, It can shoot vertical and horizontal. Comes with a carrying bag too. This is my 2nd Vanguard. My only complaint ; Unless it's SUPER tight, a 70-200 may start to slowwwly tilt downward if it is in vertical mode. I rig a sticky pad like the rubber from a jar opener between the camera base, and the quick release plate. Hope this helps. Jeff

The Vanguard Alta + 233AP Aluminum Alloy Tripod is designed to meet the requirements of the most demanding photographer, the Alta+ aluminum alloy tripod offers a magnesium alloy canopy and head. The legs can all be adjusted individually to 3 different angles (25° 50° 80°) for uneven terrain and low angle shooting.
