I needed a light weight, highly portable tripod that would set up quickly AND support a heavy lens/body combo such as the 5d markII plus Canon 70-200 f/2.8L with 2x extender. This jewel has worked quite well in all regards for everything from low level macro, multiple exposure landscape HDR, and wildlife, to portraits and astonomy, etc., etc. Even a vintage 300mm f/4 Meyer-Optik prime weighing 4.84 pounds or 2.2kg (without body) was supported with ease. Adorama has been offering it on special with the PH-32 head combo which clinched the deal. Do not expect a rock solid studio tripod and portability in one package. Use shutter lockup and a 2 second delay or remote trigger to avoid vibration on longer exposures and this setup will deliver.

For the Price of a carbonfiber Tripod u cant go wrong... pretty much the head is a Bonus or vice versa. X's: I modified (sanded) the bottom column piece to flip the column so the hook part is on top and flushed on the tripod base.

Used with Canon 5D MII and 100-400 zoom. Superb construction. very light and packs really small for full size tripod. Head unit is solid and universal. Easy and quick setup. Fluid action is smooth even in cold weather. Tool clip attachment is flimsy and easy to be lost.

I've used this tripod successfully for support of a Canon 1D Mark IV with a 70-200mm f2.8 zoom (about a 6# load). The tripod easily held it stable for both long exposure and HDR frames. Good value buy for a portable tripod
