This is an Additional tri-pod for me, but I wanted something a little more substantial for the times I'm using long lenses and for the times I want to hang-out for Macro shots. This purchase from Adorama was just another fine example of customer trusting a business and the business respecting the wishes of the "buyer". When I set up the tripod, the tripod level showed it to be level. When the level bubbles on the Quick Shoe were leveled, the ball head was not actually leveled. I modified a travel trailer level (a round single bubble level) to slide onto the QS plate. After this bubble was leveled, the attached QS levels were not level. I also noticed if the ball head was rotated the trailer level bubble did not retain level. The effect of this may not be enough for a panoramic stitching of the photos to be effected. This may only apply to the tripod I purchased, however I would suggest you run a test on the tripod you have. All tensions on the tripod feel snug. Note: After operating the tripods functions a number of times the ball head's forward and reward tilt level would show level. This was after adjusting the tripod with the added level. The side to side level never did level.

I use my tripod for automotive photography, it's gets extremely low to the ground and very easy to use! I would definitely recommend this to a friend or anyone looking to buy a tripod!

I absolutely love this tripod. The only con is the weight but at times it is a benefit. It also has a hook on the center column for extra weight. I find that my heavy dslr with flash/flash bracket in portrait mode tends to be top heavy. Not an issue with the tripod. Center column is easy to work but it is a little harder with camera attached but my camera is heavy so....

I used this tripod on macro photography of wildflowers, insects & butterflies. I find the multi-angle central column very helpful especially when shooting close subjects. Also the tripod has low angles that I can shoot close to the ground, i.e when making images of children frolicking on the grass.

DMKFoto Heavy Duty Ball Head with Quick Release Plate is a very good choice for this . It is cheap and matchs the load capacity, weight, price. This brand also has some wonderful tripods for amazing price.

The center post locks in multiple positions, no slipage. It has good reach, this alows getting the lens close to the subject in awkward areas. It comes with out a head and the salesman SHOULD have mentioned it
