Nice tripod

Legs are a little awkward to extend out, but may be user error! They seem pretty tight and can be cumbersome when trying to pack. Very sturdy though and made with quality materials.

Well worth the $$$

By

from Hampton, Virginia  -  Hobbyist/Enthusiast

I do a lot of panorama and low light photography/long exposure and for the price this tripod works extremely well. Very fluid movement, tall and light enough for most uses and it's very sturdy. The head allows me to remove the camera quickly and the ball head allows for awesome range of movement. I can even swivel the head around. A great tripod if you don't want to spend a ton of money without sacrificing quality.

Burden of weight reduced

By

from Below the Oregon Border in California  -  Photo Enthusiast

The weight for me is so much lighter than the one I had been using, it does some extra things that my other didn't and I took it out first time last night for a night shooting, I like the lighter weight. One thing though is that the knobs of the head, are not the tightest (other tripod had a handle grip on it. which are tighter) this is a good buy for me so far.

Vanguard tripod

By

from Carver, Ma.  -  Photo Enthusiast

I purchased this tripod to use mostly with my 100-400 tel lense. It's sturdy , easy to manipulate, and light enough to travel with. I like nature and will be using it for that. Also will be using it for some night photography. The price was a definite reason for me to choose it.For the quality, I thought was excellent.

TT _ Terrific Tripod

By

from Upstate NY  -  Photo Enthusiast

It's amazingly versatile - you can pose your camera in all sorts of ways. Very sturdy - very solid (a bit heavy) - but it will last a long time. I do photos of flowers with a macro lens and the camera can now be placed at low levels or higher ones and at various angles. The tripod supports the camera and lens easily.

Questions about this item:

Shopper  What is the difference between the Vanguard 264AB-100 and the 263-100 other than max height? I can't seem to find a difference.
NORMAN A  The third digit of the model tells the number of sections the legs have. 263 has 3-section leg. 264 has 4-section leg. Functionally, for a given total height, 4-section model is shorter when legs are collapsed. This makes it more portable, but also means there are more locks to deal with when opening and closing.
