My Velbon collapsible tripod fits in my backpack. I keep Velbon's quick release platform attached to my camera so it's ready to use. I setup/use my Velbon tripod with quick-releasing platform whenever I need a photo of a particular background.

Purchased as replacement for lost original. It fits the tripod well, is stable and secure - more than adequate for a medium duty tripod carried in the field. The only drawback - and this is not a biggie - is that you need a coin or screwdriver to properly tighten the camera. I've already ordered another to replace this one when I lose it.

The Velbon QB-4LC quick release plate i purchased from Adorama is great! The price was slightly better than other retailers; shipping was fast. It fits snuggly onto my tripod and it has a sturdy light weigh material, more sturdy than my own tripod. The screw has a larger head at the bottom so it's easier to unscrew with either a screwdriver or your own hand. My Canon T4i fits well with this plate so it should fit perfectly with smaller cameras. There is nothing wrong with this product whatsoever.

The quick release I bought is too small. Ads should show dimensions. Not worth returning. I had hoped it would be 1 3/4" by 1 3/4", but it was too small.
