I brought videomate 500 because it was tripod and cheap but it didn't come with the plate it basically sat in the corner for months and I used some cheaper tripod until I found this plate here I got it and it fits nice and snug I can't ask for anything more

it is an OEM product for an older model of tripod, it fits as it should, locks up nice and tight even with a heavy spotting scope attached. I would recommend it whole heatedly to anyone wishing a spare or needing a replacement.

The platform is perfect. It fits more Velbon tripods than are listed too! We have a Velbon 601 that was missing its platform. ( We forgot to remove it from an old camera before giving it away.) This replacement platform fits and works beautifully and I use it all the time with my new camera. Great product, great store.

I purchased a Velbon 600 used, and one reason was that they still support the products with essential parts. This one was available from several sources, but Adorama had the best price, free shipping, and got it to me very quickly. I am ordering another so I can have more than one camera set up, like a video and still camera for weddings or outdoor events.

I have a large lens that mounts to my tripod and two cameras and was tired of switching out the base plate anytime I wanted to use the tripod. So I got two more 'mounts' and they just stay on each piece of equipment and it was a real time saver on a photo shot just this past weekend. Should have done this a long time ago.

We have had this tri-pod for years but were unable to use it due to the loss of the quick release. But when I found it at Adorama I purchased two. Now we can use the tri-pod again.
