Questions & Answers

Brett F. B : Does the other side of the plate fit Arca Swiss or Manfrotto RC2 pattern tripod heads?
Derek G : What holds this secure on the rail? A set screw?ERIC M : Yea its basically a single cap screw that secures the pic rail mount. Its very solid.JOSH A : No. There is a hex head screw perpendicular to the rail that draws a clamping jaw tight. The screw slides into one of the grooves on the rail, and the clamp squeezes the rail from both sides. The clamp matches the profile of the rail. It is a solid mount, similar to that on most firearm rail-mounted accessories. One minor downside is that you must remove the screw and moving clamp jaw entirely to remove the mount. However, this only matters if you plan on regularly removing the optic. LEVI C : There is an allen screw. It is not a quick release. If they made a quick release i would love it.STEPHEN F : Unfortunately, I can't submit a picture to show you what the bottome looks like, so I will do the best I can to describe it. In short, there is a single hex screw that passes through the center of the mount and corresponds to whatever Picatinny rail space you choose to use. If you could see through the metal, it would look like this [P](S)[P], the P for the Picatinny railing and the S for the screw holding it between the railing. This keeps the mount from sliding along the rail. The screw then afixes itself to a small wedge with a lip that curls under the Picatinny railing system, keeping it from lift up vertically. There is a minimal amount of play in each directing side to side and none vertically (I use the adapter for mounting my helmet cam to my paintball gun's railing system), even when tightened by hand. The only thing missing is a screw to mount vertically from the tripod to whatever camera you're looking to mount but for that I just went to a hardware store, found the right size threaded rod (I think it was 1/4 inch) and asked the guy there to cut it to size for me. Hope this helps answer your question.JAMES F : It uses a hex-drive capscrew to clamp a small 5/8" section of floating rail to the Picatinny rail. You can barely see the small clamping rail in the lower-right section of the photo under the indentation on the top of the adapter. The capscrew is on the opposite side.BEN C : Yes, there is a fairly standard Picatinny rail clamp-fastener with a hex head set screw...similar to any scope mount.WAYNE T : It a allen head screw. And it works well. Geeat for sighting in scope. Or long shot
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?Terry B : item is part of an optional accessory used with our instrumentCayce M : Well made, recommended by others
