About Vortex Optics 6.5-20x50 Rifle Scope

• Shrugging off recoil, moisture and darkness with impunity! The Viper's status as a premium riflescope won't be as easy to shake. Discover a riflescope with incredible performance features like 95 percent light transmission and premium, fully multi-coated optics for stunning detail and color differentiation delivering all this and more at a price that should have pulled a few more hundreds from your wallet than it did.
• X-Factor Vision, Precision optics feature our exclusive XR anti-reflective coatings for exceptional image clarity, and XD premium high-density glass to provide the edge-to-edge sharpness needed to differentiate details at any distance.
• The Viper's Precision-Force Spring System is a patented system that uses an ultra-performance copper alloy / cobalt-beryllium spring. Not only does this greatly increase the fatigue life of the erector support system over more commonly used materials, but changes in spring pressure over time are virtally eliminated because the spring maintains a constant force throughout the entire range of motion. And, most importantly, windage and elevation adjustments are consistently smooth thanks to the spring's resistance to galling against the erector tube.
• The Viper's Precision-Glide Erector System features premium-grade fluoropolymer teflon resin bushings that provide exceptional resistance to stress cracking, temperature change, corrosion, and friction-induced wear. In addition, these bushings have an ultra-low coefficient of friction for the smoothest possible operation of the magnification adjustment.
• Vortex engineered the Viper riflescope to stand the test of time and rough abuse. The solid one-piece main tube of the Viper is incredibly tough and constructed out of 6061 T6 aircraft-grade aluminum. Vortex goes even further and purges the Viper with the highly-prized argon gas, targeting corrosion in an unchallenged way.

Vortex Optics 6.5 - 20 x 50mm Viper

By

from Morrow, Oho  -  Competitive Shooter

I have this mounted on My Rock River 24" AR-51 .223 Varmint rifle. I can get 1/2" groups and their ballistic calculating software available for free @ their sight has helped. I also use it for match shooting. Best scope for the money for varmint hunting.

Fantastic Scope!

By

from Cincinnati Ohio  -  Competitive Shooter

This is as good as a Luepohld at half the price. I also used their online bullet drop calculating software and have it set up to hit dead on at all ranges. Very clear and bright and can rezero the turrets. Just pull them up and drop them on zero. The cross hairs are a bit large but, I find this si actually a good thing hunting. I highlt rcomend this scope.

Vortex Optics 6.5 - 20 x 50mm Viper BDC

By

from Morrow, Ohio  -  Competitive Shooter

I used the Weaver Tactical X-High 6 hole 30mm rings to mount it. It is very clear and bright. It was very easy to get zeroed in. I put it on a Savage Model 25 .223 caliber thumbhole light varmint rifle. I used my own loads and was able to get a group of 1" @ 200 yards. Their LRBC (long range balistic calculator) on their site is also ver helpful. I added their scope level and may get an optional custom turet they also offer. This will allow me to directly dail in the drops. I would recomend this scope and will get another for my next scope purchase.

Questions about this item:

Jimmie H  What is the eye relief?
DANIEL E. P  eye relief is the distance from your eye to the rifle scope that you have installed on your hunting rifle. when you look in the scope at an object in the distance if you hold the scope close to your eye you will see that the scope will black out and there will be no picture in the scope.so you move the scope forward away from your eye until you see a clear image in the scope.you then tighten the rifle scope in the scope rings until its secure.you can now measure this distance with a ruller to find out how many inches of eye relief the scope has. the scope manufacturer gives you this number in inches in the owners manual.
