Great Tripod head..

Metal not cheapo plastic.. works great on monopods.. Adorama just doubled the price. It was $19.99 yesterday..

VS

completly useless!

Pan & tilt are very stiff and jerky. The adjusting knobs do nothing to loosen the movments. If you have a light tripod it will move before the camera. Not for Video use

Poorly Built. Do not buy.

I bought this for a specific use - one where I'd only ever be tilting the camera up and down. Because of that, I'm not returning it. If you intend to pan with this head, DO NOT BUY IT. The vertical piece is not vertical! It's slanted slightly sideways, causing the camera plate to be crooked. If you try to compensate for this by shortening a tripod leg or two and then pan the head, your video will wave up and down and up and down. Do not buy.

Okay for stills, useless for video

By

Okay for stills, useless for video. The pan and tilt action is not even remotely smooth - this should not even be called a "pan" head as it is not useful for panning! I was going to use it fixed to a flat board for low angle use, but the handle is FIXED IN PLACE and cannot be rotated or removed (It appears there is a pin that would need to be drilled out) as such, the unit needs a destructive modification to allow the hand to be rotated for low angle use.

Best bang for the buck!

Exceeded my expectations! This tripod head is very underrated. Other brands are more expensive and cheaply made. It pans smoothly and the quick release is not plastic! For the price you just can't go wrong this!

Questions about this item:

Shopper  Why Did You Choose This?
PAUL O  This heavy duty head is so well made I ordered a second unit for a large telescope.
Sheri L  Does this swivel and tilt?
SEAN K  Yes, it does both.
Shopper  heloo can i use it for video ?
PHILIP L  Wish I could be of more help, but I only purchased it for a DIY telescope mount project component which I altered it for use on a base of my own design; I see know reason why I wouldn't work for video, though.
