I use this as a task light for working on equipment and viewing prints. I don't use it for scene or subject lighting. I get compliments on the looks and functionality of the unit. I like that I can get a lot of directed color-corrected light at a work table without any glare, thanks to the depth of the reflector. The build quality is pretty good. The adjustments stay in position and don't drift. But don't over extend the slip joints or they will come apart. The specially designed low profile CF bulb arrived broken, and they did not have any direct replacements. They sent a replacement that is taller and therefore not as good, but acceptable. Not all CF bulbs will fit due to the narrow reflector base. The description says it includes a diffuser, but none is provided nor mentioned in the packaging. I would like it even more if it the arms could extend a little more. I am buying a second for a second workstation.

• Add an overhead light for full light coverage. Use it to illuminate the background or add highlights to the object being photographed. A clamp-on boom light is perfect for tabletop applications without taking up floor space.
