Great tiny shoe-mount meter, perfect for my old meterless rangefinder cameras. Easy to use and doesn't get in the way.

I put it on a Leica IIIb. This meter is smaller than expected and is a perfect fit on top of the IIIb. This tool is simple to use and actually made this 1937 Leica IIIb even more fun to use!

this works perfect on some of the older cameras that he uses for 3D photos. The size is nice and small so easy for our backcountry trips.

I purchased this meter to add to my vintage Leica IIIc (from 1950). Comparing the readings with my other cameras (Olympus 35SP; Fujifilm X100T; Lumix LX-100, Canon 70D), the meter is very accurate and easy to use.

Purchased this for my Leica M3. It fits nicely and matches the fit and finish of the camera. It is simple to use - looks like it is built well. Overall very pleased with the purchase.

The Voigtlander VC Meter II, it's very small, very well made meter, I really like it's small foot print and accurate reading, in my Leica M3 the shoe fit was kind of loose and it's very easy to drop without noticing, a meter this pricey should have some kind of collar on the foot or maybe a pressure ball at the bottom. On my M3 I used some gaffer's tape to keep it from sliding. Apart from that issue, it's a great meter.

I really like this meter, it's very compact, accurate and simple to operate. I use it on for my Leica M3, Hasselblad and soviet rangefinders. Just be careful, it can slide off some hot-shoes easily, I wedge some sticky-back tape on the bottom of the shoe to keep it from getting lost.

This small lightmeter might be the most useful rangefinder accessory there is. It brings my 1950s cameras into the modern age and gives them a degree of usefulness that increases the enjoyment of the cameras. The unit is light enough and designed so that it feels like it's part of the camera once it's clipped into the shoe. I read reviews that talked about how the settings kept slipping on the VC II, but I don't find that's the case at all. both the aperture and shutter speed setting have click stops that stay put. The three LED readout is easy to read and gives under and over exposures readings. The biggest drawback I see is that I've got a near meter that cost six times what i paid for my FSU rangefinders.

Small but mighty

Great tiny shoe-mount meter, perfect for my old meterless rangefinder cameras. Easy to use and doesn't get in the way.
The Voigtlander VC Meter is a very compact, accessory shoe mounted light meter for use with class cameras that have no metering system built in.
This manual, silicon-cell meter is designed to slide into the flash shoe of a variety of classic cameras such as Leica, Contax and Nikon rangefinders, which do not have TTL or other built-in light metering systems. The all-metal silver or black retro body will match to any classic camera a photographer or collector may have.
Meter operation is simple: Film speed is set by moving the inlaid dial to the correct ISO; shutter speed and aperture are selected by the two dials on top of the meter. Once a shutter/aperture combination has been selected, point the camera at the subject and press the orange button on the back to activate the meter. One of three LED's on top of the meter will light up indicating whether under, correct or over exposure.
There are three different dual-mounting adapters available. Each allows the meter to be used slightly offset on top of the camera with a viewfinder attached directly over the camera flash shoe.
