This accessory is well built. Tough, high impact plastic forms the body of the viewfinder
I purchased this viewfinder to use on my Leica M rangefinders [film] with a 40mm Leica lens mounted. The M-series doesn't have set of 40mm bright-lines in the viewfinder. The 40mm lens brings up the 50mm lines, and the 40mm angle of view extends slightly beyond the 50mm lines.
This accessory is well built. Tough, high impact plastic forms the body of the viewfinder. The front glass curves slightly outward. Mounted on my M2, it's easy to focus, then move your eye to the viewfinder. The bright lines that define the angle of view are high in contrast and stand out easily when you look through them. The piece slides into the camera accessory shoe. I understand that Voigtlander has discontinued this item, so if you are contemplating a purchase, do it soon.
