The auto focus does not not work at the higher powers. Otherwise it takes good clear pictures when you focus by hand.

Works great. Allows AF to work, doubles image plus F stop # so there is a tradeoff. But i gave been thrilled at the results it has produced.

I purchased this to use with a Nikon Zoom lens to take it to 420 mm equivalent. The Tele Converter performed with quality. I would recommend this product to anyone wanting to obtain a longer lens effect for a reasonable price.

Darkens the amount of light that normally comes in, sometimes it wont focus, something rattles inside, but overall it works, and is good for the money.

Got it for taking photos of the upcoming eclipse. Practice shots of the sun show that it will do the job. I read about concerns regarding reduction in speed or the need to manually focus, but with shooting the sun neither are an issue.

I have had this tele converter only a short time and have not used it much. AF works fine with my Nikon D3300 and AF-S DX 55-300 lens, but is a little slow as other reviewers have indicated. I will probably end up using MF more often with this tele converter. I have really not used it enough to evaluate photo quality.

I bought this teleconverter to increase the focal length of my telephoto lenses, and the autofocus does not work. I have tried it on the Canon - EF 70–300mm f/4–5.6 IS USM and the Sigma - 150-500mm f/5-6.3 PO DG OS HSM, and it works on neither. I can still use it on manual focus, but obviously it is not too convenient when photographing wildlife in movement.

I read several places that this will work with a Nikon D3200 auto focus, but it does not. I am returning the item for a refund.

I really wanted something that would get me closer to wildlife. While this product did the job, the results were poor: the extender eats a lot of light. Under ideal lighting, it would be fine. Anything else and you get high ISOs and grain.

Love this product. Picture quality is excellent. Glad I spent the money on this item rather than a cheaper one. I love this product.

I bought this teleconverter to increase effective focal length of my nikon 70 to 300mm zoom lense. The device did not allow autofocus at all. I took images using manual focus, and in all cases the resulting image had extremely poor contrast and unacceptablely poor sharpness. Results were much worse than simply cropping an image shot with the straight lense without teleconverter . I rated this teleconverter 1 star, because zero is not an option.

It does what it says it will. it can work with autofocus but do not depend on it in Nikon DX cameras. Manual works fine and is as others have noted. it does fit a 5100.

Did not fit my EOS EF-S lenses, as was noted plainly on the instruction sheet included in the box with the lens - but was not noted on the web site.

I have only had the teleconverter for 2 days and tried it with landscape, birds and flowers. I have an A200. It didn't work in manual or auto with my Sony 3.5-5.6/18-70 kit lense or my Tamron F/3.5-4.5 SP AF 10-24 DiII. But I really wasn't expecting it to work with those 2 lenses. It worked in both modes with my Tamron Di AF70-300 F4-5.6 LD macro lense. The results weren't as good as I was hoping but I was shooting without a tripod. I had to work with settings to get decent shots in different lighting, indoors and out. It worked in both modes with my Tamron SP AF 200-500mm F5-6.3. It wouldn't auto focus when shooting through shrubs or if various shades of green, from foilage, were in the frame on a sunny day. I had to use it mainly in manual mode. I shoot a lot of wildlife and flowers. So I still have more situations to test with. But so far I am not impressed.

I bought this with high hopes that I could double the zoom on my 55-250 EF-S lens. But, saddly found that it doesn't fit EF-S lenses.

Haven't used it much so far, but the what I have noticed is ease of attachment, focuses well, light weight and a good price.

I use the tele converter to do portriats and works very well with my 50mm lens f1.4 lens and auto focus works well This converter when i use for portriats makes it so i dont make my subject feel that i'm right in there face so it makes them feel more comfortable Auto focus does not work with my larger lens but works great in manual focus

I have been Having trouble finding a tele converter in a Pentax mount. Then I discovered the Vivitar 2X Tele converter. I am quite pleased with it. I used it along with my Tamron LD Di 70 - 300 tele-zoom lens when the Shuttle Discovery flew over Washington DC on it's way to the Smithsonian. The auto focus worked flawlessly and I got some great shots. If you are looking for a quality 2X Tele converter for your Pentax at a good price, this is it.

I bought this for bird and wildlife photos mostly. I find it useful also for closer shots too. It doesn't seem to degrade the image. It surely lives up to my expectations.

If you're doing MOSTLY distant shots and want a longer lens, it's a good buy. Autofocus does NOT work with the NIKON 18-55 telephoto lens and autofocus with the 55-300 lens is slow. When used with the 55-300 lens, a tripod is a MUST.

It is best for stills If you rapid shoot my d3100 has inconsistent shots. It does provide a clear shot of what im shooting even behind my 500mm reflector lens with its 2x adapter.

Haven't had this long enough to tell how (or if)it will affect picture quality but I had a similar one back in my film days and was pretty happy with that. It is kind of slow in AF mode, but better than I thought it would be - I was thinking Manual Focus anyway so not really a big disappointment there. I plan on using it for wildlife pix and travel photos. Beats having to carry another lens. Good service from Adorama too.
