Not like the old Vivitar

By

Years ago, when you bought a Vivitar lens, you got a pretty decent product. Those days are long gone. This "lens" (and I use that term loosely) is just nothing but cheap glass thrown together [*]. Barreling and distortion is outrageous! Do not waste your money, and shame on Adorama for selling this junk.

Not worth it!

By

Finally it was delivered and excited about the new "toy" but joy disintegrated once I tried it on my 50mm lens, 18-55mm & 55-300mm. No usable image in any setting. The 0.43x lens with the macro has about 0.7 ~ 0.8x magnification against advertised. Macro lens is usable and can focus up to an inch but no great images either. Vignetting is also obvious in all images and out of focus when at Auto Focus mode. When viewed on it's own, the 0.43x lens is truly a 0.43x but not when attached to the lens. I'll try to experiment some more and attach the lens without the macro to see how it performs, I just need a reversing ring to attach it to one of my lens. What a waste of money!

Bad, just awful

By

I bought this knowing that it would not make my 18mm lens a fisheye. However, the quality I got out of it is so bad that the picture is not even worth taking the time to process in camera raw (it is that bad). It is distorted (all of it, not just the borders), it makes it look out of focus, but it isn't, it is just.. weird, it sucks. There's also really bad chromatic aberrations as you move away from the center. I didn't buy the zoom attachment cause I could tell from the sample picture that it was bad, but I never thought this one could suck so much too... You can see in the picture I attach that all detail is gone. It looks like there was no light, which is not true, I was shooting <1/300s
